Desiree is Devon Ryder's girlfriend, but the two are so close and so in love with one another that they prefer the term "partner" or "soulmate", as "girlfriend" doesn't seem strong enough. Born in a heavily-Francophone region of Brazil to a French immigrant father and a native Brazilian mother, Desiree was raised in a household of strong wills and even stronger opinions. The girl has never had any trouble speaking her mind, joining the debate club in school from an early age, and took an interest in politics as she entered high-school, which drew her to things like Student Council throughout her teenage years. Raised already in a multilingual household, Desiree spoke French and Portuguese fluently by the time she was able to talk, and chose to learn English as her third language because she dreamed of leaving Brazil when she came of age to see the world. It was in this that she met Devon Ryder, when both were visiting Montreal, Quebec for two totally separate purposes. Devon, of course, was wrestling, while Desiree was there on vacation to admire the city's rich history and beautiful architecture. The pair hit it off immediately, bonding over their shared love of politics and debate, while discovering they had much more in common as well such as their musical tastes, hobbies and general enjoyment/consumption of popular culture. They also shared a mutual distaste for the United States of America and the way they treat their citizens, something Desiree had learned firsthand while living there for her undergraduate studies. Eventually the pair parted ways, but they kept things going long-distance for quite some time before Desiree was able to finish her schooling and move to Canada full-time, living first in Montreal with Ryder before the duo moved just across the border to Canada's capital city of Ottawa.
Friends and family have said that Desiree is the greatest thing to happen to Devon Ryder, as she's managed to temper some of his more egregiously self-aggrandizing tendencies and keep him much more level-headed than he was in his younger days. Conversely, Desiree herself says that Devon helped her to become a more complete woman, and his undying love and support for everything she wanted to do gave her the courage to finally live the life she's always wanted to live, and pursue her dream of working in professional public speaking, something she was always afraid to delve into because of her thick Brazilian accent. She also developed a love of wrestling while dating Devon which has carried over into their modern life, and he encouraged her to follow him into the sport when he made his return in 2021, following a brief stint in municipal Canadian politics - a field Devon hopes to return to one day in a larger capacity, and will do so with the full support of Desiree de La Roche behind him. This is Desiree's first time being in front of the camera, though she's worked in production before on various small indie films and television shows, so she may not always accompany Devon to the ring because of nerves; but rest assured, where Devon Ryder goes, Desiree de La Roche will always, always follow. And those who cross one should fear the coming wrath of the other.
