“Richard Rider.”
The distinctive Irish brogue echoed slightly as the scene came into focus, showing a nondescript room with white walls, a small wooden table and a television screen mounted to the wall behind it. Footsteps sounded, followed by the appearance of Malachi striding into the frame with a purposeful gait, dressed simply in a black T-shirt, jeans, and black Vans shoes. He walked up to the table, turning to stare daggers into the camera lens set up in front of him.
“I am now fully convinced that you are, without a shadow of a doubt, the absolute dumbest asshole in this entire company. And you wanna know how I came to that conclusion?”
He simply pointed over his shoulder to the screen set up behind him, where the video clip was cued up. On his signal, it kicked into action, showing Richard Rider storming the ring and smashing Bella Madison in the back with the steel chair on the May 12 edition of Riot. The screen immediately cut to black, and the camera focused back on Malachi’s furious face, his lip curled in a ferocious snarl though his voice was dangerously low when he spoke.
“Now, I want to make one thing absolutely, unmistakably clear. I have no doubt in my mind that Bella would be more than ready and able to wipe the mat with your smug fuckin’ face, but this week she’ll be a little busy tearing the limbs off that walking identity crisis. So the duty to beat some sense into your thick skull falls to me. You think you’re such hot shit around here? You want the spotlight so bad? I’d be careful what you wish for, shitheel. Because I’m about to make you fuckin’ famous. You are now forever going to be known as ‘that dumb motherfucker that former PWS Apex World Champion Malachi wiped off the face of the earth’.”
He pressed his hands on the top of the table in front of him as he leaned towards the camera lens, his eyes dark and narrowed. “With everything that’s been happening around here lately, you really thought it was a smart idea to go and pull that little stunt? The tensions around here are so thick, you could hack through them with a god damn machete like you’re in the fuckin’ jungle. This company is one big fuckin’ powder keg, and all it’s gonna take is one little spark to set the whole thing off. And with Mack back in action this week...that may be coming sooner rather than later. So I’m sure you can imagine what kind of mood I’m in these days. And you thought - or the closest thing you can do to thinking in that overinflated head of yours - that pissing me off was your wisest course of action? Either you haven’t been paying attention...or you have one hell of a deathwish. The only thing you could have done that would be dumber would be stepping into the ring with Mack McKane...but not by much. See, I’m not in any type of mood to piss around, so I’m not going to waste my time with you this week. If there is even a sliver of a brain cell left in your empty head, you’ll do the smart thing and just lie down on the canvas the second that bell rings. Because if you don’t, I promise you that it will be the second biggest mistake you have ever made in your life. The first being that chair shot that sealed your fate.” He paused a moment, and a malicious smirk made its way across his face. “On second thought, I actually want you to put up a fight. I want you to try and bring everything you can to this match. Because I have a lot of aggression right now, and I could use a good punching bag.”
With one last menacing glare to the camera, he pushed off from the table and stalked out of the frame, and shortly after the camera cut straight to black.
