The scene opens up with Miss Puppies standing in front of the mens bath room when she gets that grin on her face as she pulls out a can of beer from her cleavage when a stage hand cames up to her. stage hand ( Miss Puppies you have a match to night aginst Gracie Lopez.) Miss Puppies ( Wow me and Gracie Lopez. She dose not scare me. I scare her. Because around here I am the Queen B and poor little Gracie nothing but a piece of trash a nobody and a wanna be. Friday 1/24/2020.
Something’s never change.
(The scene opens up in LA at the Lopez compound. It’s a sun-splashed day in LA, a smudge on the chilly side but the seagulls don’t seem to mind with each step they take they squawk and minding their own business. People are seen on the beach as well, not full like it normally is but a few getting sand between their toes. We hear a screen door open behind the camera, and we hear someone yell.)
Person: Finallyyyyyy! I can fully embrace my backyard again!
(The yelling scared the seagull away and the camera quickly turned back to the person. The person happened to be Gracie Lopez. She has a big smile on her face as she scopes out her new backyard. The backyard had been under construction for the past few months. She only access the cooking area of it. She is seen running across the different area’s of the backyard, from the lounge area (the nearest side towards the screen door), the cooking (middle) and the pool (towards the ocean, furthest away from the screen door)
Gracie: It’s been almost 6 months since I’ve seen and been out in my full backyard. I’m not gonna miss the empty grass yard this place used to have.
(The camera pans across the different parts of the yard now, in the cooking area, we see some smoke coming from the green egg grill.)
Gracie: Don’t worry about that, it’s pulled pork for tonight. It’s gonna rest there for a long while. Still got 7 hours left on it. Now that the tarps are gone, I can cook out here with more freedom, and I won’t feel like the walls are closing in on me. If you know anything about me, I don’t really like cooking in the kitchen unless it’s raining outside. Even in the rain, i cook sometimes….
Kayla: Yeah with me and this camera….
Gracie: Shhh… you didn’t melt, did you?
Kayla: Well, no but…
Gracie: Shhhh… just go with it.
(Kayla is of course behind the camera. They bicker like this from time to time, sounds like an old married couple if you ask anybody. Both girls and the camera make their way to the lounge area of the backyard, Kayla puts the camera on the tripod before sitting down on the outdoor couch.)
Kayla: Imagine the parties we’ll have now.
Gracie: Right!? Not to mention the Superbowl is next week….
Kayla: Oh yeah!
Gracie: Big Party. This entire backyard will be rocking. Plus it’s gonna be in the mid-80s…. Grab those swimming trunks!
Kayla: You still have a match between now and then, in Pittsburgh.
Gracie: Don’t mention that sad city. I know we have to hop on the plane to go there, but I don’t really want too. There’s nothing there, it’s just a dead city with nothing really to go sightseeing. What’s there of importance? The ketchup museum?.... Lame!
Kayla: Oh… doesn’t sounds too appealing.
Gracie: Right? Plus I’ve seen everything that Pittsburgh has to offer and I don’t really care for it. I just want to get that match over with and get the hell out of there, get back here to a real city.
Kayla: Gotcha. What about not getting awards?
Gracie: Honestly? I don’t care for awards. If I wanted a piece of plastic to tell me how “good” I am, I’ll go to the Grammys or the other pointless award shows they have during the year. If Haze and Bella are happy that they tied for it, good for them. It’s not what I’m here for. If I would have won it, I would have thrown it in the trash. It’s simple as that. Let’s talk about something else shell we?
Kayla: Ok, how about your match?
Gracie: Ahh, yes. I’m facing Puppies it looks like. I don’t understand why she wanted to face me. Is she angry over the fact that I pinned her a couple of weeks ago in that tag match? What makes her think that this match will be a different outcome? Don’t worry about answering those questions, I have answers for both. She’s stupid. She’s stupid because if she thinks this match will have a different outcome, she’s going to be highly disappointed then. But, that’s her thing, she’s a disappointment. Sure, she won a few title matches, but she was just a transitional champion.
(Gracie shrugs her shoulders, more in disgust than anything else.)
Gracie: It’s like somethings never change you know? It seems like every company I go too, they have to have her and I wrestle. I don’t get why. Puppies doesn’t deserve to be in the ring with me AT ALL. But yet…. Here we are, yet again.
Kayla: You sound annoyed.
Gracie: I am. You would be too if you had to face the same person over and over again. I don’t like puppies, I wish she’d go away. Go play with dirt dog or flat dog or snoop dog or whatever her husband’s name is.
(Gracie stands up from the couch.)
Gracie: Imagine being the best player on a sports team that’s not going anywhere and sinking fast, and they tell you that your opinions don’t matter and you need to keep your mouth shut and “take it for the team, cuz soon your day will come”. It’s kind of an insult if you look at it. Since day one I’ve been told not to outshine the “important” wrestlers and I need to keep my style grounded. I unno, facing pupples for the thousandth time is kind of a slap in the face, but whatever, I’ll keep doing what these people want me to do and keep my mouth shut, cuz it’s what they want me to do…. I’ll keep looking bad in the ring too, just to please them.
(Gracie rolls her eyes.)
Gracie: I still get paid either way you look at it..
(Gracie walks away, slamming the screen door behind her, which pops back open from the force she had slammed it.)
