December 4th, 2019 Tokyo Dome Following Last Rites
He had done it.
The proof was right there, held in his hands. Ten pounds of gold and leather, shining under the flourescent lights of the locker room. Still dressed in his gear, feeling the sweat drying on his skin. The buzz of the crowd was still in his ears, so he didn’t hear the door open or Bella Madison step inside the room. She was holding a couple bottles of water and a towel, and she smiled as she walked over to him and gently draped the towel over his shoulders. At her touch, he snapped out of his thoughts and looked up at her.
“I...did it,” he said, almost unbelievingly.
Bella sat next to him and grabbed him in a tight hug, planting a kiss on his lips. “You did, champ,” she said, beaming from ear to ear. “I’m so unbelievably proud of you. You proved to the entire world just why you belonged in that match.”
A smile slowly made its way across Malachi’s face as he leaned forward and kissed her fiercely. They were so caught up in each other that they didn’t hear the door open, until they heard a familiar female voice call out.
“Alright, I know you two probably want to celebrate, but can it wait until you get to the hotel room?”
The two looked to the door to see Alanah O’Connell, Jack Russow, Mack McKane (cleaned and bandaged up from his match) and Mattie Cormier coming into the room. Mal and Bella stood up from the bench as Alanah rushed over and hugged her brother tightly.
“You were incredible!” she said, smiling brightly at him. “I knew you could do it!”
Jack came up and offered his hand. “Gotta say, you made a believer out of me. Congrats, man.”
Mal just stared at him for a moment, before slowly accepting the handshake. “Thanks.” But then, his eyes went over Jack’s shoulder, and a smirk crossed his face as he walked over to Mack. “Well, this is what you wanted, isn’t it? The Red Menace has been dethroned, and now there’s a champ that won’t ignore any challenger.”
Mack smirked. “Best Christmas present I could have wished for.”
“I don’t care what anyone says,” Mal continued on, extending his hand towards Mack. “I want you to be my first challenger.”
Mack shook his hand, a genuine smile gracing his face. “It’s all I ever wanted.”
“Well, now that all that’s out of the way, what do you say we hit the town and party!” Mattie exclaimed, as the five wrestlers turned to look at her incredulously. She threw up her hands defensively. “Kidding, kidding! Let’s just go to the hotel and get those of you that are injured resting.”
Everyone shared a laugh as the scene came to a close.

Present Day New York City
“It feels good to be back home.”
The Brooklyn Bridge provided the visual backdrop as Malachi came into view, dressed for the chill weather in a dark grey wool coat, dark jeans and a pair of leather boots. He had the PWS: Apex World Championship resting proudly on his shoulder, and he gave it a fond look before fixing his cold blue eyes towards the camera lens, shifting the title a little higher on his shoulder so it was prominently displayed.
“But what feels even better is standing here, holding this title that no one thought I would win. You were all so god damned sure that either Alexis was going to retain or that Dan was going to be the new champ that you completely overlooked me.” He let out a harsh bark of laughter. “I just wish that I could see each and every one of your faces right now. After all the shit talking about how I ‘weaseled my way in’ and I ‘didn’t deserve to be in that match’, I bet that humble pie is tasting pretty fuckin’ bitter, isn’t it? Honestly? I hope you all choke on it. For months, I’ve been proving night in and night out just why I am the future not only of this company, but of professional wrestling as a whole. But you all just brushed me aside. Said that I was just some bitter jealous kid with a chip on his shoulder.” He looked back down at the title with a smirk. “Well, seems like that chip is made of gold now, isn’t it?”
He paced a few steps, the camera following his movements. “And now, Apex finally has a champion that it can be proud of. A champion that is willing to defend this belt anytime, anywhere against anyone. Someone who won’t blatantly ignore when someone is calling him out. I said from the beginning that once I get my hands on this title, I knew exactly who I wanted my first challenger to be. Someone who deserves it more than anyone else in this company.” He looked back to the camera. “Mack McKane. He wants it. I want it. Hell, the fans even want it, though I’m sure that they just want it because they want to see him beat me to a bloody pulp again.” He gave a shake of his head. “But of course, even though I’m the champion of the bloody company, my word apparently means shit around here. Because who do I get for my first challenger? None other than the epic failure herself, Alexis Makarios.”
A snarl made its way onto Malachi’s face. “Do you really hate her, Star? Is that the big secret? I mean, why else would you throw her to the wolves again like this? You can’t seriously think that she’s got a chance in hell of regaining her title back? Not after what I did to her and Daniel just to get this title. This may not be some Hell in a Cell match, but rest assured I’m going to destroy her just as much as I did back at Last Rites to make sure that this title stays with me.”
“And as for you, Alexis…” He slid the title off his shoulder and held it up to the camera, clear enough to read his nameplate on the front of the title. “You want this so badly because without it...you’re nothing. Without this belt, you’re going to fade back into obscurity where you belong. You may have been some big-shot bitch back in the old days, but your time is over. And mine is just beginning.”
He hoisted the title back onto his shoulder and with one last icy glare into the camera lens, the scene faded away to black.

(The scene opens up in the hotel room being shared by Alexis Makarios and James Younger. They were both sitting on the couch, playing on their phones.) James: So... you ready to get on this planning or what? Alexis: Planning what? We already booked our hotel rooms in advance for the upcoming tour... James: Not that. You know what I'm talking about. (He reaches into a bag and pulls out a bridal magazine.) James: Is it finally time to make you Mrs Younger? (She smiled and took the magazine.) Alexis: I have been wearing this ring for a long time, now haven't I? (James nods) James: A little over 3 years, by my calculations. But now is the perfect time. You and Jenn are united again. You aren't the champin so you don't have the distraction that comes with that. It's perfect. Alexis: You have a point. Seems some one is a little anxious to take me off the market... officially... (James grins and kisses her.) James: I've been ready since the day I put that ring on your finger. (Alexis smiled as she began to thumb through the magazine. Her expression changed from a smile to one of worry.) Alexis: Holy... there's so much to do. You have to pick a date, a venue, then theres food and flowers and decoration... an officiant... the dress... color scheme.. oh dear lord I need to call Jenn. She knows about this stuff and maybe she still has a few numbers from her wedding James: That's a perfect idea. But let's start small and pick date and location and go from there? Alexis: That sounds good. Then after this weeks show, the return show, you will be marrying an award winner. James: That's very true. I have 100% confidence you will walk out with every award you are nominated for. And even win your belt back. Alexis: Awe, you want me to win... because part of your pitch for starting the wedding planning was me NOT being the champion? James: Of course I want you to win. I'm your biggest fan. We will work around the schedule if we have to. You can't let Malachi keep that belt. Not after what he did to get it. Alexis: What he did was actually brilliant. How do you win a match that big? By doing something innovative like handcuffing your opponent with the the most strength left to the top of the fucking cage and take advantage of the most damaged opponent. I gotta say, Malachi is a straight up dick... but I respect how he did that. James: If you say so... Alexis: Oh trust me... he is a dick. But that's irrelevant. I wasn't even really prepared for my rematch yet but... ya gotta roll with the punches right? James: Very true. So are you and David still going to have your match? Alexis: I hope so. He said he was gonna talk to Star. She's the one who said we would have our match this show and then changed it because SOME ONE had to go and fracture their wrist. Whatever... we will figure it out. But for now... I gotta go call Jenn. (She smiled and walked off as the scene faded to black) ooc: Sorry malachi but this rp sucks brain no worky
