(The scene opens up inside of Gracie’s luxury San Diego house, she’s sitting an office room, which is about to turn into a gaming room for her. She’s sitting in the middle of the room with wood pieces everywhere, as she’s trying to figure out how to build something. She has a friend with her, and she’s also trying to figure this out.)
Gracie: OK! So, we got the pieces out from what the book tells us.
Kenzie: Did you read the book?
Gracie: …. No, I just looked at the pictures. Of course, I read the book! It’s in a different language tho.
Kenzie: You’re bilingual!
Gracie: It doesn’t mean I can read Swedish stuff!
Kenzie: I mean…..
Gracie: Well, if you’re so god damn smart you read the book then.
(Gracie throws the book at her friend with a laugh. Kenzie tries to read the book as well, but it turns out to be a dud since she can’t read that langurage at all either. Kenzie shrugs her shoulders.)
Kenzie: I guess we’ll go by what the picture shows!
Gracie: That was the first suggestion I had….Ok now this big piece, is it a top or a bottom?
Kenzie: Looks like the top to me.
Gracie: From what the book says, we attach the legs, somehow to it.
(While Gracie tries to figure out what part goes to wear, Kenzie is trying her best to read the book. While She’s reading the book, Gracie stands up on her feet and takes off her sweatshirt in frustration. She slams the shirt down on the floor.)
Kenzie: Did you take your sweatshirt off for views?
Gracie: I’m hot and I’m angry! If I wanted to take off my shirt for views, I’d look like those twitter thots that hang around, nobody wants to be THOSE type of people.
Kenzie: Tha….. I mean yeah…
Gracie: HEYYYYY! My girlfriend is down the hall.
Kenzie: I um….
(Kenzie starts to blush a bit, Gracie shakes her head before she gets back to work on the project. Kenzie shakes her head before she changes the subject.)
Kenzie: Anywayyyy! Do you have plans for your 21st birthday?
Gracie: I think Jenn is planning something for it, but I’m not sure yet. I overheard her talking about it with my dad. Along with that, she has to deal with her sister thing, still have no idea what that is about. She has too much on her plate, and I think she’s trying to make everyone happy, and it's just leading into stress. I just know my 21st birthday is being discussed by the two of them.
Gracie: …. It’s my 21st birthday, of course, there’s gonna be drinks involved. Only a crazy person doesn’t drink on their 21st birthday!
Kenzie: But I didn’t drink on my 21st….
Gracie: …. We have a prime example then!
Kenzie: I think you invited me over to make fun of me!
Gracie: I would never.
Kenzie: I know you, Gracie Lopez!
Kenzie: While we work on this, why don’t we talk about your match?
Gracie: Yeah, let’s talk about it.
Kenzie: How do you feel about it?
Gracie: How do I feel wrestling a person I consider a friend? Just about the same as I faced Jenn. I’m nervous about it. But it’s a good nervous you know? I know that this had to happen sooner or later, and I didn’t think it would be this quick.
Kenzie: What do you mean?
Gracie: To be honest, I thought we’d be fighting for something bigger like a championship. With that said, we can make this match to prove something to ourselves and our families. I guess there is a point after all to this match. Come to think about it, My dad faced her parents so many times, and now… now they to see us in the ring wrestling each other.
(Gracie starts to grow a big bright smile on her face, she has the thought of both sets of parents watching them wrestle for the first time, much like the elders did in their careers.)
Kenzie: You also have to worry about that losing streak that you’re on..
Gracie: I knew someone was going to bring that up. I don’t care about that losing streak. I’ve won who many matches in my short career that it doesn’t even bother me, you know? It’s Ok to lose a few matches from time to time. I’m not in a sport where it matters, we don’t have a season record like other sports do, we’re not basketball or baseball or football. Everyone knows how hard I work inside the ring and outside of it. The passion I have for this business is not going to die because I lost a match. If I lose a match, oh well. I’m not one of those people who throw a fit because I lost. “OH MY GOD, I GOTTA WIN EVERY SINGLE MATCH OR ELSE I'll QUIT”... I’m not that type of person. If you want to label me as a “jobber”, cool story bro, I don’t give a shit. I don’t give a shit about other peoples opinion about me. I know what my self worth is. I don’t need judgemental jealous bitches trying to tell me how to live my life. So, if I lose to Bella at Red White and Bruised, she’s the better person. Just like how Cynthia was the better person when she beat me three times in a row. It’s that simple.
Kenzie: Gosh… It was just a question.
Gracie: And I gave you an answer with no bullshit attached to it. That’s what these people here need to realize, I don’t have a filter. If I say something is stupid, it’s stupid. I’m going to speak my mind and I don’t care if it hurts peoples feelings.
Kenzie: Gotcha. But back to Bella…
Gracie: I got on a rant there for a second, but anyway back on track. If I lost to Bella, I don’t think it’s much of a big deal. But, I hope Bella did her homework. I hope she realizes that this match is the biggest of her life. I also hope that she knows that I’m not going to go down easily. Just when you think you have me down, I keep coming back. I also hope she knows that I’m not going to take it easy on her.
Kenzie: I’ve seen what you can do in that ring. I think that’s the best advice she can get right now right?
Gracie: Yeah. We are going to tear down the house I just know it. You put 2 extremely talented people in the ring together, 2 people who have a history with this business and 2 people who want to burn down the house at any cost… hell yeah, you’re going to get a barn burner.
Kenzie: Barn burner, Really?
Gracie: I know what I said!
Kenzie: ….. You’ve been hanging out with the southerners again, haven’t you?
(Kenzie just looks at her.)
Gracie: Let’s get back to putting this thing together! Now, show me where the hole is, so I can place this end in.
(Gracie’s girlfriend makes a brief cameo, in the back when she heard that. She just walks the other way shaking her head.)
Kenzie: I think you got it jammed now.
(Gracie’s grandfather is in the house now, and Gracie doesn’t know it. Gracie said something about having a BBQ later on, and Jorge, being Jorge, would never miss a good BBQ, so he showed up early to be there.)
Kenzie: you got your leg jammed in my hole!
(Jorge heard the commotion that’s going on in the other room, he pushes his walker out of the house and walks out in disgust. He thought there was something going on more than furniture building and he didn’t want to be around for that. He slams the door on his way out.)
Gracie: What was that?
Kenzie looks out the window.
Kenzie: I think that was your grandpa.
(Gracie runs out the house to go after him and explain that nothing, like hanky panky, was going down. The scene comes to an end with Jorge and Gracie out there in the parking lot talking about what happened and her bringing him back to the house.)

~_~_~_~_~ Following Friday Night Riot ~_~_~_~_~
In the arena the cameras were off but in the back things were still rolling.
What was suppose to be her grand beginning, her very first victory...and it turned into a circus. A dark circus, to be more specific, and she was standing in the center ring....the ring master laughing from the outside and the puppet with the string pulled. They did it though, exactly like she knew they would. Malachi tried, and was outnumbered. It was almost over before it really even began....
....and then backup came. That part, a complete surprise. She didn’t know the one song...but the other two....Alanah and Jack. Even through the haze of taking the Northern Lights Out and being doused in gasoline, she knew it was them.
“Thank You” ...won’t ever be enough.
But the fans got to see something amazing and something almost potentially horrifying; and since the cameras turned off out in the arena Malachi has refused to put Bella down. Despite her soaked with gasoline, the smell didn’t bother him any, his focus was elsewhere.
“Mal, I can walk you know.” But Mal wouldn’t hear it, his steel blue eyes focused on the task at hand, getting his Bella to safety....despite the fact that security was following them since they came through the curtain on Starr’s orders. Starr practically pleading with him to take her to the trainers but he refused to even listen to her and just kept walking.
It didn’t take long for them to find that locker room, the one trashed by those freaks, the one where he got jumped outside of...the door was still open, until he entered with her and kicked closed in security’s face. “Ok we’re here, can you put me down please?” But he refused still. “You’re only getting this gas all over yourself” ...still nothing as he continues through the room with her and right into the showers. It’s there he finally lets her on her feet to turn on the shower and steps with her right into it, soaking them both and holding her close and just letting the water run over them. You can tell it’s a bit cold at first but Mal keeps her from pulling away.
“Shhhh...it’ll warm up in just a moment, mo grá.”
She looks up at him and sees a slight bruise over his eye, “Are you...are you ok?”
“Rather focus on you right now, if that is ok with you.” she starts to lean on him a little more.
“I think I need to sit for a moment. The smell of the gas...” He helps her down to the floor of the shower and just sits with her in his arms, the shower just pouring over them. “I guess things got a little out of hand...” she said it so quietly.
“A little out of hand? Bells, you realize what the hell just happened right? You do remember the freaks coming out of the woodwork, don’t ya?”
She just closes her eyes, holding on to his arms about as tight as she can, “Of course I do. I also remember seeing Syn and Levi...I remember them laughing at me when it looked like all hope was lost...”
“I’m sorry, I am so sorry about that. I should have been there at ring side, I should have trusted my gut.” Mal takes a deep sigh, “That is the second God damn time I have almost lost you to that sadistic son of a bitch....” his hands were shaking but not from the temperature of the water. Bella can’t help noticing and grabs them and brings them up to her face.
“But you didn’t. I’m here, I’m right here Mal. That was a close one, I’m not going to lie...” she almost smirks, “Seeing you come out there like you did tonight...I had a moment where I felt like that would have been it...it would have been too if...”
“Yeah, that part surprised me a bit too”
“We both owe them big time, but for now...really need to get this gas off of us.” In the background we can hear someone banging away at the door to the locker room, “And to tell those people to fuck off, so I can show you exactly just how much I love you.”
The words that come from Bella’s mouth kinda surprises him a bit but he smiles and gives her a quick kiss and climbs up to his feet and heads out of the bathroom as she leans against the closest wall.
~_~_~_~_~ Put yourself in my place ~_~_~_~_~
Well....that certainly went sideways.
Not the match. That match was amazing, and exhilarating and Cynthia is an amazing wrestler. I can see why she almost became the United Champion.
No, see what pissed me off was the fact that I was not even able to truly celebrate, like I had hoped. I knew it was coming, in some form or another, I knew that we would face down those demons. I’m actually glad.
.....we’ll come back to that in a few. ....maybe.
It’s funny what a brush with the mortal coil can do to a person. The perspectives one can see in just a few moments, reliving moments. Life flashing like a crazy whirl-wind movie. That’s kinda what that whole thing was like in my eyes. I’m not going to be scared off by the methods of a madman and the puppet. FUCK the Dark Circus...because now....now I have a purpose. I’m going to live, despite how much you mother fuckers want me to burn.
I am NOT that little girl afraid of the boogeyman....
I’m the creation of your best dreams...and worst nightmares.
And I plan to make you proud.
~_~_~_~_~ The Next Generation ~_~_~_~_~
We now have come to Washington, D.C.
Here we see Malachi and Bella walking down the hallway as we join them in the middle of their conversation.
“We were just kids, both of our parents were the standards in PWS. When I showed up, besides Jack, Gracie was one of the very first friends I made. Her dad and my mom actually had this amazing feud when PWSR and PWSi both combined. All over the Championship.”
Mal just shakes his head, “And yet, somehow, you two have remained friends, after all this time?”
“Been almost a decade. I can’t believe this match is already happening though. I thought for sure Starr would have saved this for further down the line.” Bella says with a shrug.
“I’m sure she has her reasons, love. Doesn’t mean that I won’t be any less worried for your safety. Hence the reason I have already discussed this with the powers that be...” Mal holds up a piece of paper, “This little beauty will make sure that you are never without backup. I’m a little on edge as is knowing that Russow is creeping around here tonight, as is”
Bella stops her in tracks intertwining her hand with his “Little? Babe, I’m waiting for your head to spin around like an owl. I love the intensity, but you gotta chill just a bit.”
“Yeah well call it what you will, but I will be damned if I let you out of my sight.” you can see it in his eyes, he refuses to almost lose her again. That intensity between them, can’t help but bring the two of them closer.
“Ok...I get it. I really do. Protecting me tonight is your top priority. Having a great match with Gracie is mine...I’m actually excited about this.” Her smile is so bright just even thinking about it, “Gracie and I spent so much time as kids before shows just running around the ring together, we talked about how cool it would be when we grew up to actually do this. She took the chance before I did, which was no surprise really, her family's legacy is thicker than mine. She’s third generation. Most of the Lopez family did this shit out of the womb. And in the short time she’s done this.....well....I got a lot to look up too....and she’s younger than me to boot.”
“You’re rambling love...”
“Yeah I know. I just hope this one doesn’t get fucked up too....” Bella sighs “Gracie has had my back, but I don’t want to see her get pulled into this bullshit too.”
“Well after she burned that shitheel Kasey before we showed up...she kinda put herself in that position. Even I have to admit, I was impressed by that one.”
Bella playfully shoves him away “Only because she burned him by complimenting you....sort of”
“Hey, it could have been worse...”
“Right. She could actually have liked him enough to try and steal me back from you.” Bella shrugs as she continues down the hall.
“Sassy jokes for days with you love. God help me.”
