For the week of April 21, 2019
Helloooooooo humans! Happy Easter! So let me start off with the reasoning as to why there was no repot last weekend. The truth is I’ve become more involved with the production of the PWS-APEX shows. So I’m the days following, I’m recovering from the show. That is why I’ve decided to make the Ryland Report a bi-weekly article, being release on each Sunday of an “off week” for PWS. I feel this will give me more time to collect my thoughts about the last show, so I can give a better review of it, as well as take a better look at the upcoming show. With us quickly approaching Destiny, there is so much going on, I don’t want to miss any of it.
With that all being said, let’s get into what happened on the last edition of Riot. We started off with an appearance from the United Champion, Amelia Emery. I have to say, the bond between Amelia and the fans is truly something special. So, it was heartbreaking when she announced she was not medically cleared to compete following her car accident a couple weeks ago. I’ve been told the concussion she sustained wasn’t a major one, but given the nature of the injury, the doctors are being extra cautious in clearing her, and as of this writing, she is still not cleared. I do hope she can get cleared in time to defend her United Championship at Destiny.
Speaking of Destiny and the United Title picture, one of Amelia’s challengers, Miles Kasey, was involved in a little tussle at a local bar on Friday, that just so happened to air on the live show. Whoops. I am told that any damage the bar sustained was covered by our legal department. I’m sure that was a headache, but they better get ready for that. Foreshadowing what’s to come there.
Anyways, we saw Amelia again in the show as she was ringside for possibly the shortest match in PWS history, as Trina Roberts got her first win in PWS, defeating Cheis Blade in record time. The ending came after Blade was making lewd gestures towards Trina’s girlfriend, Amelia. So when he turned around, he got his head damn near kicked off and Trina got the 123.
In other match news, the debut of Rockin Lunatic came to a shocking end, as Dillon Crowe mad his presence known, attacking both Lunatic and his opponent, Moondust, before draping Moondust over Lunatic for the pinfall. When confronted by Star Stormz as to why he did this, Crowe showed his frustration with the lack of fanfare for his arrival. His attitude came across as extremely arrogant and hostile, but it will be very interesting to see where things go from here with him, as I’m sure Lunatic can’t be all that pleased with being attacked like that.
In other results, Camilla Rodriguez was victorious over Morgan Baker, and Alexis Makarios defeated Stacy O’Brien. Now, there are two more things I have to talk about before I move on from this show, the first being how we went off the air. It was meant to be a live Ryland Report with yours truly, with special guests Daniel Russow and Alexis Makarios. I have to say after being in the ring with these two, the tension between them is something else. You could FEEL the hatred for each other pouring from their veins. I know at one point these two were considered to be good friends, and I honestly don’t know what happened. However, the segment didn’t just see Alexis and Daniel, as the other two competitors in the World Title match at Destiny made an appearance, with Jennifer Carpenter-Lopez ahowing up on the stage and Michael O’Neil showing up in the crowd. There was some back and forth between the four, and you really get the sense that Jenn and Mike are fed up with the other two acting as if they are the only two in the match, focusing so much on each other and seemingly forgetting about the other two. The ending to the show came when Dan called Alexis “homewrecker” one too many times, and she clocked him with a sucker punch right hand. Of course Daniel retaliated with a right of his own that laid Alexis out. We saw the disapproval from both Jenn and Mike before going off the air.
Now, to what many are considering the biggest moment of the show. Just before the main event, the lights in the arena went dark, before “God’s Gonna Cut You Down” started to play. Pyro exploded and a shadowy figure of a man, wearing a mask, appeared in the ring. When the man took the mask off, when I tell you the place exploded, that’s not doing it justice. Levi Freakin’ Russow has returned to PWS and the crowd was absolutely ecstatic for him. Given what has happened on Twitter between Levi and David Shane, it should be very interesting to see what happens next.
So that was last week’s show. A LOT happened, and I honestly filled it was just as action packed as the debut show. As far as what to go back and watch, I honestly can’t pick out one thing alone. Go back and watch all of it. You won’t regret it.
So, let’s look forward to this week’s show, and what a show it’s shaping up to be. Levi Russow is scheduled to appear and speak out. We will have a contract signing for the world title match, Amelia Emery will be doing some guest commentary, and we will see the return to the ring of David Shane!
The other matches we will see, Rockin’ Lunatic takes on Johnny Sins in a no holds barred match, Dillon Crowe has his debut match against Max Johnson. In what is sure to be a barnstormer, Camilla Rodriguez will take on her good friend Cynthia Hellsing. Also, Miles Kasey will take on Travis Ryan. It is going to be another great show, live from TD Garden in Boston. You won’t want to miss it, and I’ll be back in two weeks to go over it all and look forward to the Destiny go home show, live from NYC. have a great day, and happy Easter! See ya next time!
