“Preparing for War” (It is 11 pm on a Saturday night and Gracie is just returning home from a wild and high-scoring football game in which her team won 48-45 over the rivals of UCLA. It was a game that she wasn’t going to miss for the world and she knows the company is on tour in Europe currently, but this game she had on her calendar, almost like its tradition. In her house, we see Eddie, Mr. and Mrs. Makarios. As soon as Gracie saw the 3 of them she smiled. The 3 of them are having a conversation while babysitting, Eddie is off his crutches and moving better after having his knee replaced after his final match. Mr. and Mrs. M are in town, for the last few weeks till Thanksgiving then they’ll leave for a couple of weeks and return for Christmas!) Eddie Sr: How was the game?? Gracie: USC won, of course! It’s kinda fun to gloat with Crystal, she gets all defensive about it. She shoulda went to a better school. (Eddie Sr lets out a hearty laugh as he motions for her to sit with them on the couch. The family has always been sports nuts and they get highly competitive with each other when rivalry season hits. Especially in football season, both Eddie and Gracie went to school at USC, so they don’t like UCLA.) Eddie Sr: It’s good to see you guys get along. I know you two didn’t get on the right foot at the start. Gracie: I mean…. Yeahhhh… but once I got to know her and made sure she wasn’t going to turn her back on this family, we started to get along then. It takes a while for me to warm up to people, and it takes a while for people to earn my trust. Ask any of my friends, Bella, Lexi or any of my friends outside of wrestling, it doesn’t matter who. But once I trust you enough you’re in my inner circle…until you piss me off… Eddie Sr: Like David Shane? I mean you’ve been taking beatings from him as of late, I hope you know what you’re doing with that. Gracie: You think a few beatings will take me out? Hell, I’ve had people over the years saying they’d break my legs or break my body or whatever strokes their egos but NONE of them have gotten the job done, I’m still here….and that’s not about to change for ANYBODY, I don’t give a shit who you are. (Gracie shrugs her shoulders, being defiant as she always is. Since the start of her career, she’s always been a rebel and has always walked to the beat of her own drum.) Gracie: speaking of David, I get to face one his people this week while he hides behind the cops in a dark hallway somewhere. That’s ok and the fact that everyone is banned from ringside? Even better. However, I’ve known David for years and I know he’s not going to lay around and stay quiet for long I know he has something up his sleeve, and people can try to talk me out of that thought but I know David too much. He’s not stupid, but I’ll keep an eye out just in case he feels froggy and decides to show himself or any other member of that group he has. Eddie: You really think he’s going to show? Gracie: No, but I’m sure he’ll have someone else do his dirty work, but I’ll keep an eye out anyway. Just in case that happens. You know how he works dad, he always hides in the shadow and waits to attack people from behind, you’ve faced him before. But hey you know what, if I’m wrong about this feeling, I’ll come out and say it but I don’t think I am though. I think all of this is a setup, but if it is, I’ll fight away out. (Gracie shrugs her shoulders, she’s not scared of being outnumbered again. In fact, she wants it, she wants to be that badass that overcomes the odds. She’s overcome the odds since she’s been active in this sport. She is concerned about wrestling hurt? Not at all. Even if she was injured, she wouldn’t tell anybody.) Gracie: As far as Sanders goes, he’s wrestling me one on one and not snack-attacking me from behind. He’s going to find out who the hell I am, and I’m not some pushover like he thinks I am. He’s going to find out why people fear my kicks, and no I’m not just saying that for bullshit. I have the best kicks in this business, and I’ve knocked out bigger opponents with them. The speed I have in the ring is undeniable as well. I’m not saying any of this to impress him, because I honestly don’t give a fuck about Sanders. But I’m just telling him he’s never been in the ring with someone like me before. (Gracie shrugs her shoulders.) Gracie: But that’s then, for now, I’m gonna go head to sleep because I know my daughter will wake me up early. (Gracie heads up the stairs and soon she disappears. It leaves the trio of people on the couch like they were earlier. They start to talk about the match Gracie will have and how proud Eddie is of her. The scene comes to an end.)

ANTITHESIS: I Found Something…
"I sat before my glass one day, And conjured up a vision bare…"
*Fade in.*
*Our opening shot pans slowly through the darkened halls of a now-familiar mental health facility. Fading staff photos and crinkled fliers line the walls of the main hall, with the headlines, dates and placards emblazoned on them placing us firmly in the early '00s. We track steadily through the claustrophobic corridors, choked around their failing and dilapidated edges by encroaching shadow, as the slow, sombre opening of "In the Woods Somewhere" accompanies the plodding shot. As the guitar sting pierces through the song, altering the tone, our image changes with it, jump-cutting in time with the beat to a cramped and dingy bedroom. A lean and frail form lies, writhing, on the bed - a young man, whose wrists have been shackled to his mattress. He struggles against his bonds, tears streaking down a haggard face lined deeply with the many tragedies of wasted youth. Sanders seethes and struggles violently against his fetters, which we view in slow-motion as the song's lyrics begin.*
My head was warm My skin was soaked I called your name 'til the fever broke
*We smash-cut now to the same adolescent Sanders now lying on the forest floor in a familiar wooded clearing. His wrist restraints have vanished, leaving him free against the grass. The moon is full, bathing the scene in an eerie white light, but throwing long shadows over our scene.*
When I awoke The moon still hung The night so black that the darkness hums
*Here, Sanders moves to stand up and look around. He gazes up to the sky, one hand raised to shield his gaze from the glare.*
I raised myself My legs were weak I prayed my mind be good to me
*He suddenly starts, turning his head violently to one side as if startled by a sound from afar, gazing into the tree-line with an expression of dread.*
An awful noise Filled the air I heard a scream in the woods somewhere
*Our footage fades to slow-motion now as Sanders takes off running, opposite to the direction from which the noise evidently came. We slowly pan out as he sprints, allowing us to glimpse the burning house from the previous promo just beyond the treeline, and the black-clad, devil-masked Eldritch Sanders watching from above.*
Ooh, oo-ooh, oo-ooh
*As the chorus fades back into lyrics, our scene jump-cuts back to a close-up shot of Sanders, now filmed at full speed as he darts through the underbrush, coming to a stop as he reaches a clearing. He jerks his head swiftly to the left, his attention captured by something else, then takes off in that same direction.*
A woman's voice I quickly ran Into the trees with empty hands
*As Sanders breaches the trees to his left, he finds another being awaiting him in a much smaller clearing, leg ensnared by a bear trap; it is the familiar form of Gracie Lopez, his opponent and primary member of Team Star. Gracie is clawing desperately at the bear trap, and Sanders locks eyes with her as she looks up, her face a mask of terror. His own expression matches hers, and the pair remain there in silence for a long moment.*
A fox it was He shook afraid I spoke no words, no sound he made
*Sanders remains frozen in place as an unfamiliar figure emerges from the trees behind him - it appears to be a person, dressed from head to toe in black robes covered by a makeshift armour of bones, complete with a deer skull atop the head serving as a mask. This person’s features are totally obscured, but they begin to stalk towards Jonathan with a threatening gait, raising one hand to point at Gracie as Sanders’ voice narrates over the scene…*
"Unlike the aspects glad and gay, That erst were found reflected there —"
*Immediately, the song begins again, as Jonathan Sanders inhales, his expression steels, and the Lost Cause opens his eyes. He steps towards Gracie Lopez, who glances down at her ankle, then back up at Sanders, as he raises a stone.*
His bone exposed His hind was lame I raised a stone to end his pain…
*We cut to black as Sanders lowers the stone, then cut back to an image of Gracie Lopez lying at his feet as he stands next to the robed skull creature. He grins a wicked grin.*
What caused the wound? How large the teeth? I saw new eyes were watching me
*As the chorus begins again, we slowly pan out to see Eldritch Sanders watching over everything again.*
Ooh, oo-ooh, oo-ooh
*As we pan back in, the skull-creature turns to grab Jonathan’s throat, quite unexpectedly, but he manages to wriggle free of its grasp and take off.*
The creature lunged I turned and ran To save a life I didn't have…
*The skull-creature pursues Sanders through the forest as he makes a break towards a mirror, through which we can see his mother staring back at him, beckoning him forward. However, the creature leaps forward and pounces on him, causing the mirror to shatter.*
Dear, in the chase There as I flew Forgot all prayers of joining you
*Sanders is pulled towards the skull-creature as the forest around him erupts in flames, both cascading through the mirror together.*
I clutched my life And wished it kept My dearest love, I'm not done yet…
*Sanders and the skull-creature fall slowly through the flaming mirror-realm, overseen by Eldritch Sanders/The Dark Reflection. As they reach the bottom, we cut again to the forest, as Sanders stands, grinning, beside the skull-creature and the Dark Reflection, the former of which has a hand upon his shoulder.*
How many years I know I'll bear I found something…
*Jump-cut to a close-up of Sanders’ face. His lips blossom into a wicked, sadistic grin as the fire spreads out of control around him.*
In the woods somewhere.
*His narration begins again.*
“The vision of a woman, wild - With more than womanly despair...”
