Ride or Die
From the mind of Max Delgado
Damn it felt good to finally get rid of that joke, Riser. It was like dropping this giant weight off my back, and now I can go on to focus on bigger and better things, like teaming with my girl, Carmen. You can best believe I’m looking forward to this one.
Sure, we are going against Sanders’s lackies. But to their credit, they are former tag champs. I mean they WERE a great team, but these days? They’re shells of their former selves. And, as good as they used to be, they aren’t going to be able to stop me and Carmen. This is the start of something new, a new era. This week is gonna be huge for us, for more than one reason. Just you wait and see.
Scene One Uncomfortable Truth
(The clock ticks away as we sit in silence for a few moments. I look around the room, trying to find something to focus on, when his voice almost startles me.)
Dr. Fisher: So, how are things Maxwell?
(I shoot him a glare.)
Max Delgado: No one calls me that…
Dr. Fisher: How does it make you feel when I do?
(This motherf-)
Max Delgado: Keep doing it and ya gonna find out.
(Ok so maybe that was the wrong thing to say, as he just lets out a sigh and sits back in his chair.)
Dr Fisher: How are things at work?
Max Delgado: Good. I’m on a winning streak and this week I get to team with my girl.
Dr. Fisher: Ah yes, how is Carmen?
Max Delgado: Amazing…
Dr. Fisher: I understand. She’s the one thing you’ve managed to open up in our time together and not completely shut down over. I still don’t know much about your family life growing up. I understand you have this almost vendetta against your father, but I have absolutely no idea as to why.
Max Delgado: Well maybe it’s not your job to know why.
Dr. Fisher: It is my job. It is exactly my job, so I can help you deal with it and move past it.
Max Delgado: You ever think I might not want to move past it?
Dr. Fisher: Even if it would mean an easier journey for you here in PWS: APEX?
Max Delgado: I don’t want an easier journey. I want to make a name for myself. I don’t need or want his help. That’s why I joined using my mom’s maiden name. I don’t want people associating me with him and thinking I only get things because of my last name. There’s too much of that these days already.
Dr. Fisher: Okay, so you don’t want his help, but why not give him the respect as one of your bosses? Remove all the personal feelings?
(I shoot him a glare, hard to believe he even suggested it.)
Max Delgado: You want me to just remove years of hatred, years of resentment, just like that? Like I’m some autonomous robot?
Dr. Freeman: if the feelings are hindering you from reaching your full potential…
Max Delgado: My “feelings” are the reason I have gotten to where I am. I have hated him for years, and I have made it my life’s mission to make it in this business despite him!. And I am done talking about him, so let’s change the subject or I’m walking out of here.
Dr Fisher: No no, that won’t be necessary. Tell me about your upcoming match, teaming with Carmen.
Max Delgado: It's going to be great. I finally get to team with Carmen and I’m done with that joke Rider. I know Lyons and Dionysus are part of that Antithesis group, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t understand their stance on things…actually, in another world, I might even be one of them. But, I don’t think I could work with Sanders.
Dr. Fisher: Why is that?
Max Delgado: There’s just something about him that I don’t click with. Can’t explain it. Dionysus and Lyons might be okay with being his lackies, but that’s not how I roll.
Dr. Fisher: So are you concerned at all?
Max Delgado: No shit, doc. Of course I am, they are former tag champs. I’m not knocking their abilities in the ring or as a team. It’s gonna be a hell of a battle, but I have faith in me and Carmen that we’ll be able to come out on top. A win would go a long way for us if they ever decide to bring back the tag team titles.
Dr. Fisher: Well, seems you have a handle on things at work. How about your personal life?
Max Delgado: Good.
Dr. Fisher: That’s it? Just “good”?
Max Delgado: I took Carmen to meet my mom and sister…
(That shocked him I guess. He sits there for a moment before speaking.)
Dr. Fisher: She must mean a lot to you for you to introduce them. I know how private you are about them. I barely know anything about them and we’ve been meeting for months.
Max Delgado: Carmen means the world to me. I only hope I can be the partner she deserves, in and out of the ring.
Dr. Fisher: That is a very sweet sentiment. Why don’t you show that side of you more?
Max Delgado: It’s reserved for Carmen, Elena, and my mom.
Dr Fisher: You seem very close to your sister, Elena. Did the two of you have the typical bickerings and arguments like any other brother and sister growing up?
Max Delgado: We’ve always been close. But I don’t like to really talk about the past.
Dr. Fisher: Why not? The past is what helps make us who we are, and we can learn from it.
(I’ve had enough of this. So, I stand up and look at him.)
Max Delgado: The only thing I’ve learned from my past? My father is a heartless asshole, and I love my family.
(I storm out of his office to go find Carmen.)
Scene Two A Glimpse of Hope
(I’m sitting on the couch, thinking back to what Dr. Fisher and what my mom said. I’m scrolling through my phone, and let out a sigh before scrolling to a contact and pressing the call button. I hold the phone up to my ear and wait for the answer.)
Max Sheppard Hello?
Max Delgado: Hello, father.
Max Sheppard Max? Is everything okay?
Max Delgado: Yes.
Max Sheppard Did you mean to call me?
Max Delgado: Will you shut up and listen?
(He doesn’t say anything for a second, so I take that as a yes.)
Max Delgado: I was just calling to say thank you for teaming me with Carmen this week.
Max Sheppard That wasn’t me. That was Star.
Max Delgado: Well, tell her thank you for me.
Max Sheppard She’s not exactly speaking to me at the moment.
(I chuckle.)
Max Delgado: Way to go, you’ve done went and pissed her off too. Guess that’s what you’re best at, isn’t it?
(He lets out a sigh. I can hear it.)
Max Sheppard is that all you called for?
Max Delgado: No….
(I sigh before continuing.)
Max Delgado: I went to go visit mom and Elena the other week. You really need to get out there before it’s too late.
Max Sheppard I know I do, and I want to. I’m just so scared to face them after everything I’ve done.
Max Delgado: Honestly dude? Suck it up, buttercup. As hard as you may think it might be for you, I guarantee you it will be harder for them, but they still want it. Shit, mom still wants me to forgive you for the shit you pulled.
(There was a long pause after that one. After a minute I can hear him speak in an almost broken tone.)
Max Sheppard…she does…?
Max Delgado: I’m not there. I might not ever be. But know that if I ever am, it’s because of her. And the fact is after she’s gone, Elena will need her dad in her life, so I need to be okay with that.
Max Sheppard Max, I….
Max Delgado: Don’t. Say. Anything. Just…I’m gonna try to not be as….confrontational with you, but you have to agree to stay out of my way and let me do me. If I’m going to forgive you, I have to do it at my own pace.
Max Sheppard aj understand and that is something I can work with.
Max Delgado: Alright. Cool. I’m gonna get off here. I have to film a quick video for the website and then Carmen and I are going to the Parthenon.
Max Sheppard Sounds lovely. Anything special happen?
Max Delgado:…I’m not at the point where I’m ready to share that with you. I’ll see you at the show.
Max Sheppard Okay son. I’m sorry.
Max Delgado: I know. Bye.
(I end the call and toss my phone down to my side. I lean back on the couch and let out a sigh. After a few moments I get up and walk out to the balcony.)
Scene Three This is a “shoot.”
(I sit down and press the record button, as I sit back in my chair on our balcony overlooking Athens.)
Max Delgado: Production wanted me to film a video giving my thoughts on this match….my thoughts….
(I let the words fall off my lips and pause for a moment.)
Max Delgado: My thoughts are FUCK ANTITHESIS. They try to walk around here like they own the damn place, when in reality, they’re nothing more than Jonathan Sanders’s bitches. They have their heads stuck so far up his ass, they’ve forgotten how to come up from air. And what has happened to Antithesis? See, Sanders lost his Collateral Damage title, and he’s done fuck all since. Which seems like the mediocrity spreads fast in groups, cause the same can be said for Lyons and Dionysus since they lost the tag titles.
(I look out before continuing.)
Max Delgado: I mean, you would think anyone in their right mind would be scared shitless of Dionysus. The big ass freak of nature. But I’ve seen what he can do. I’ve studied his matches. You could say this is gonna be like David vs Goliath, and you all know how that went.
(I smirk and let out a sigh.)
Max Delgado: The one we really have to worry about is Lyons. Out of the rest of them, he’s the one that has the potential to break out. That’s if he ever dropped the dead weight. He’s a hell of an athlete, I’ll give him that. Hell, he’s a hell of a wrestler, but as long as he’s in Antithesis, he’ll have to settle for playing second or third fiddle.
(I told my hands and lean forward in my chair.)
Max Delgado: No. as good of a wrestler he is, and as good of a team he and Dionysus may be. Don’t get it twisted, they are a good team. Like I said, former champs for a reason. But, as good as they are, they don’t hold a candle to the chemistry Carmen and I have. They work as a team because they are in a stable. Carmen and I are a team because we love each other. We are THE couple of PWS: APEX. Some of you might not see it yet, but you will in time. You all thought the Russows were a good team, you ain’t seen nothing yet. There is nothing I wouldn’t do for Carmen. She is my ride or die. And this week? In Athens? We gonna ride.
(I lean forward and press the stop button on the camera.)
Scene Four Ride or Die
(So, let me paint the picture for ya. It’s a beautiful evening in Athens. The sun is just starting to set in the horizon, and families and couples are spending the time outside, as we are in the courtyard of the historic Parthenon. I’ve brought Carmen here just to relax before the festivities of the show…and…well…something else.)
Carmen Rodriguez: I love Greece. It’s so beautiful.
Max Delgado: Almost as beautiful as you.
Carmen Rodriguez: Aww, so sweet.
(She gives me a smile and a kiss.)
Max Delgado: You ready for this match on Riot?
Carmen Rodriguez: Looking forward to it. You kidding me? I get to team with my man? Yes please! What about you?
Max Delgado: Yeah definitely. I’m ready to show them what the true couple of PWS can do. As far as the company is concerned, it’s you and me against the world. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Carmen Rodriguez: Absolutely. Ride or die.
Max Delgado: Ride or die….here’s hoping you wanna keep the ride going…
(Heeeeeere we go…I turn her to face me as I look into her eyes.)
Max Delgado: Carmen, these past two years with you have been a dream. I don’t know where I’d be if it wasn’t for you. When I’m with you, I can show the side of myself I don’t let others see. We say we are ride or die…this is me hoping you’re wanting to stay on that ride a bit longer.
(Pull out the box, get down on one knee..)
Max Delgado: Carmen Rodriguez…
(Open box to reveal beautiful diamond ring. See her eyes light up.)
Max Delgado: Will you marry me?

The scene opens with am image of Alexander lyons, somewhere in Athens, as the Acropolis can be seen behind him high up on it’s hilltop. As expected, he’s not happy and wears his usual dour expression, and furrowed eyebrows.
Alexander Lyons: For the past few weeks, I have been replaying the moment Alexis broke my Gordian Knot in my head, and for weeks it has been poisoning my mind. My only solace coming in seeing her fail and lose her championship. But enough about Makarios, now I have to worry about a couple of lovesick children.
He exhales in a huff, his expression never wavering.
Alexander Lyons: Max and Carmen, I just hope you understand this isn’t Spring Break, and we’re not in High School anymore. Nobody cares about your little relationship, certainly not ANTHESIS. Understand that you are up against a god in Dionysus, and a warrior in Alexander. Only you won’t be finding any head of mine around these parts, only the heads of a couple of lovebirds.
He takes a moment to pause, and let his words sink in as he ponders his next words
Alexander Lyons: It’s time for this rut I find myself in to end, ever since losing the tag titles. I just can’t seem to get my mind right and it’s affecting my ability to be the best. My tag team partner Tyson Sykes has ghosted me, forcing me to demand I be let loose on my own. However, I know Dio will have my back, and he is a god around these parts so it’s good that he’s on my side isn’t it.
For once, maybe there was a slight hint of a smile, an arrogant one but a smile none the less.
Alexander Lyons: I’m being as patient as I can, but I can only remain caged for so long before things really go dark, and if things don’t start to turn around I will be forced to take my own drastic measures and ensure my success in this company. I lost a championship, my supposed brother is ghosting me, my Gordian Knot has been cut in half, all in a matter of a couple of months. All that’s enough to make a man lose his mind.
As he continues speaking, a sort of darkness fills his eyes, different than his usual arrogant glare, almost as if something is lurking beneath the surface of his retinas.
Alexander Lyons: But mine hasn't been lost to the darkness yet, I still remain in control and when it comes to Max and Carmen, my sole intention is to just let out all this pent up frustration, honestly I don’t even care about getting the meaningless victory over the two of you. I just want to make you feel the suffering I’ve had to endure these past few weeks. I want to scar your pretty little faces. Making sure you hurt, that you suffer. THAT is real victory. What I can promise you for certain is that win or lose, you will not be leaving this match in one piece.
Alexander smiles a little more, and even giggles an unsettling but delightful giggle.
Alexander Lyons: Yes, that’s the way isn’t it Alex. Just hurt them. You don’t need to really win. You can just take them out instead and make sure they can’t come back. If only you remain, you will HAVE to be the best. Even if you must be King of The Ashes.
He blinks a few times and shakes his head, looking a little confused before continuing.
Alexander Lyons: ..I’m in control. I’m in control.
He takes a deep breath in and continues.
Alexander Lyons: There is a bright side to all this, at least you can take solace in the fact that I will take you out together, so you can hold hands and look into each others eyes before Dio and I deliver our final blows, and prove to everyone that love conquers nothing, and in fact only makes one weak. Carmen and Max will learn that love does not equal power. Power is power, and that’s a lesson this entire roster needs to learn. Carmen, Max you will give in to the power of Dionysus, and you will….HEAR ME ROAR.
Alex glares at the camera, and seems to be muttering nonsense to himself, as the scene fades to black.

Standing there looking out at the sunset, from the gardens of the Parthenon, Carmen couldn't think of a better moment. Then he turned her to him and spoke such words of love and compassion, that she almost teared up right there. Then when Max hit his knee, holding out that beautiful ring, she knew her answer right away. Carmen looked down at Max, in his hand was a diamond ring. But that isn't what kept her gaze, it was the look he gave her. One that was full of the love she had always dreamed of. The words he spoke still hung in the air, between them. Carmen smiled down at him, nodding her head. "Yes. Yes Max I will. I will marry you."Carmen nodded, leaning down to kiss him. She watched as he slipped the ring on her finger. She pulled him up to his feet, before kissing him again. "Oh thank God.. otherwise this would have been really awkward."Carmen giggled and placed her hands on his shoulders, before smiling at him and then looking at the ring. This was unexpected, a future she never had expected now came upon her as easily as breathing. She had been with Max for two years and now.. they stood there, engaged, staring out across the vast beauty in front of them, enjoying the last reys of the suns warmth. She turned to Max, smiling at him. "Thank you, for making my dreams come true."She kissed his cheek and wrapped her arms around him, resting her head against his shoulder. "Its you and me babe. Ride or Die remember?""Ride or Die."The two shared a kiss as the sun set in Greece and the stars started to come out. ~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ The Cure for your disease "Anti-Thesis.. What is an Anti-Thesis? An Anti-Thesis is.. a person or thing that is the direct opposite of someone or something else. So what is so different about a group of people who formed an alliance of sorts in a professional wrestling company, full of people who have the very same thing going on? Sounds more to me like someone didn't exactly think it through, when they named their pathetic little stable, full of people who haven't done anything important in months. Damn it really must suck to suck. Yet here we are, the best god damned young talents in the company, and we are forced to work against these guys? WTF?""Single's matches, tag matches, death matches. Everything I have ever done, has brought me to this moment. To this match. There's nothing that can stand between us.. and winning. Look at the things Max and I have done as competitors, as singles competitors at that. Now imagine what that amount of talent can do when they team together. When there isn't.. obvious.. tension in the ranks. What? Was being a team not everything you ever thought it would be? Come on.. you can be honest and tell me. It seems that Sander's keeps you all around as pets.. as protection.. because he's too afraid to fight his own battles. Besides.. didn't they get their asses handed to them recently.. by a washed up old woman."Carmen and Max look at each other with a laugh. They took this match seriously, but come on, who wouldn't laugh at the joke that was Anti-Thesis. "Alexander Lyons, this man.. he's destructive, uncaring and ready to hurt someone. But that's the thing.. I've beaten men like him. And I respect his dedication to the destructive side of the industry. He is a man who is violent, much like Max and I are, and when you put the two of us together.. well come on.. there's no one that can beat us. You walk around here with your little group of Emos and act like you aren't some sad attempt at a cult. Come on now.. and what's next.. you'll recruit some girl.. who'll be Sander's bride of darkness.. come on. Pathetic.. really. I hope that you really are ready to fire off at one hundred percent today.. because I know I am.""Dionysus, Oh god.. how many people use that name in professional wrestling? Fucking hell. Why didn't you just call yourself Jason Voorhees.. that's more your type. Dionysus was a god.. he loved wine and sex. Which.. I think we all can admit who the SEXIER ones are in this match. You dont' say much.. is it because Sanders had your tongue cut out in some tragic attempt at being an edgelord? Come on.. come for us.. show us everything you've got. I can promise you both.. it still wont be enough. Not enough by half.""Losers, that's what they'll be babe.. It's what they've always been. That's.. their Anti-Thesis...""Mental Illness is a disease.. and I've got your cure.. Bring whoever you want out here.. go on.. Bring mr. Edgar Allan Poe with you if you must.. it still wont stop us from destroying your dreams. Perra's."Fade to Black. ~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ 💋~ Telling the brother Carmen picked up her phone, standing on the balcony of their hotel room in Greece. There was someone she needed to tell the good news too, and what better time than the next morning. Here she stood, mere hours before the show preparing to tell her brother what had transpired between her and Max the night before. She saw the sun, glinting off her ring and smiled. Soon she would be Mrs. Max Delgado, she couldn't imagine a better future. Dialing her brother, she hit the video chat option and waited for him to answer. She smiled when he answered. "Hey there big brother."Max held her hand, finally joining her on the call. She smiled at him, her eyes sparkling as he waved at her brother. She gave her brother a few moments to reply. "Hey Carmie..""Well we have something to tell you Crash!"The brought her left hand up together, showing the ring on her finger. Both smiled at each other. "Well, I'm glad to see you finally went through with it Max.""Wait.. what?"Carmen looked between the phone and Max, confused by their shared smirks. "He asked for the blessing, at my show. I granted it. I'm so happy for you hermana. Congrats to you both. You two really are perfect for each other.""Thank you, bro. It means a lot to both of us. And you better bring yourself and my beautiful nephew when we have the wedding."Fade to black on the scene.

Post by Dionysus on Oct 23, 2022 21:51:33 GMT -5
*Athens, Greece. The Parthenon. Night. A ruined building, yet one of great historical significance to the city, if not the entire country. Inside the large structure stands a number of crumbled statues, previously having been lost to time. Except one. A large statue of the Greek goddess Athena. The night sky is clear and dark, shining only moonlight on the scene. The camera pans through the large structure, the marble floors glistening in the night. In the middle of the large room with the ancient statue is Dionysus, whose immense height is put into perspective by the piece. He’s sat on the ground in front of the large visage of the fallen goddess, as he looks into the camera, a crazed look in his eyes, his pupils dilated, his mouth halfway between a scowl and a smile.*
Dionysus: Let me tell you a story…
*He pauses.*
Dionysus: Long ago, in ancient Greece, there was an infant, born to Persephone, known as Zagreus. Zagreus displayed exceptional strength and abilities, and that very power caused fear amongst the gods of Olympus. By the order of Hera, the infant Zagreus was TORN TO PIECES by the great titans.
*Another pause as he stares dead into the camera.*
Dionysus: The remnants of his body were cannibalized, but his heart was saved…
*The Mad god pauses again, looking back at the great statue behind him.*
Dionysus: By the queen of the gods, Athena.
*He pauses, looking back up at the statue of Athena, before standing up to full height, walking over and putting a hand on the statue’s base. He inhales deeply, closing his eyes as he releases the breath, a smile coming across his face.*
Dionysus: And so, Zagreus lived. He was reborn, and in his new form would from then on be known… as Dionysus.
*His smile fades, releasing his hand from the statue, his eyes briefly closing again as he turns back to the camera, opening his eyes again and staring deeply into it.*
Dionysus: One of the many sons of Zeus, Dionysus was considered a god of madness, but his followers viewed him only as a god of pleasure, a great bringer of ecstasy. His wine, his music, it helped them forget their sorrows, and the tight, oppressive restraints of those with more power than them. It helped them to forget the pain, the hopelessness, the fear, the neverending torment of simply living and offered true and glorious salvation. A path to ultimate, never-ending bliss. A distraction, no matter how brief, from the painful, horrible truth. Which reminds me…
*Dionysus looks down for a moment, then laughs a little, his chilling laughter echoing off the great walls of the Parthenon.*
Dionysus: …Hello, Max. All this talk of great power, no wonder your name was mentioned. It wasn’t an accident, your father’s quite a powerful man, isn’t he? A businessman; a capitalistic, suit-wearing oppressor who squashes the average man like a bug in his palm unless it suits his own twisted sense of morality, or puts more imagined value into his bank account. You know, I’ve seen a lot of people like your father, Max. I watched them pass me by while I was on display at the freak show. They’d always stop and stare, seeing people like me as monkeys, as THINGS to DANCE for their amusement!
*Dionysus pauses here again, a look of anger coming into his eyes.*
Dionysus: …He reminds me of the ring leader. The man who ran the freak show act to begin with. A man who decided to make a living off of other people’s suffering. Just another cog in the endless, meaningless political machine. Oppressing those seen as lesser, and not even batting an eye. Because our lives didn’t MATTER to him. We were just TOOLS to make him richer. *He scowls as he talks about this, his head tilting down to stare at the floor. He looks almost… pained by his own words, but steels himself quickly as he stares back into the camera.*
Dionysus: But YOU’RE not like him, ARE you? You want your success to be your own. You want to PROVE yourself, and you thought the best way to do that was against ANTITHESIS. Against brother Alex. And against… me.
*He pauses, starting to laugh again. It seems disturbingly genuine. He stares into the camera with an unhinged, feral grin.*
Dionysus: Well… I will show you tonight, Max, why that’s a very, VERY bad idea. I’ll show you why David was LUCKY to slay Goliath. David got ONE shot to slay the giant, and if he had missed, Goliath would easily have CRUSHED him underfoot. You as well get one shot, Max, and you’d better make sure it kills me. Because if it doesn’t, then like Zagreus, you will be torn limb from limb. And this time, there will be no Athena to save you.
*Another pause, Dionysus looking up once again at the statue, a hand meeting the marble at the base once more, before he abruptly turns his back on the statue, symbolically denying the goddess’ help.*
Dionysus: And if it’s not ME that ends you, then it will be your hubris. Because you’re arrogant, Max. Foolish. You believe in yourself, even when you really, REALLY shouldn’t. Because it doesn’t matter how confident you are, if you’re center-stage at the Coliseum, face-to-face with a man-eating beast, your confidence will do nothing to save you. Without a weapon, a killer instinct, and a significant amount of dumb LUCK on your side, self-confidence will get you nowhere. You’re still a sheep in the cage of a lion. And we ALL know how THAT battle ends.
*His lips twist into a wicked grin and the giant licks his lips.*
Dionysus: Speaking of lambs to the slaughter… Carmen, you will be the first to die.
*He stops, his grin slowly fading as he slowly starts walking across the large marble hall, away from the effigy of Athena.*
Dionysus: And I hope you won’t take it personally, Carmen… it is simply that Max cares about you more than anything on EARTH. And you love him too, don’t you? You’re the Hera to his Zeus. The Persephone to his Hades. A calm and gentle Athena… to the wounded heart of his Zagreus. He cherishes you, and your love, and I’m sure you reciprocate those feelings…
*His mouth contorts into a wicked smirk, continuing his march towards the exit.*
Dionysus: …Meaning YOU’RE what we must take from him. Love is a powerful emotion. And in the end, your love will be your undoing, as it always is. A recent example… Devon Ryder. He had everything going his way, but love once again reared its head, brandished its horns and GORED him through the heart! And if it’s enough to break the unbreakable man… there’s no telling what losing the one thing you care about more than anything else will do to someone like Max. But we’re going to find out. Together. This is a promise, Carmen. Because we’ll be in the ring together, meaning he can see everything we do to you. And when I maim you, dismember you, rip you apart WITH MY BARE HANDS in FRONT of him…
*He looks at the camera solemnly, stopping in place briefly as he does. He speaks quietly and wistfully.*
Dionysus: Then I won’t be the only one in this match to have lost a love.
*He takes a deep breath, humming the tune of “Drunken Whaler” as he looks around the building. He reaches the entrance of the building as Jonathan Sanders comes into view, leaning backwards, his elbows against one of the massive pillars, his long hair flowing down onto it. The Lost Cause is grinning in his trademark way, and he looks into the camera.*
Sanders: Athens…
*He grabs the camera, it flickers briefly as it’s ripped out of the operator’s hands. The footage jump-cuts, and the next shot is of Sander’s face encompassing the frame*
Sanders: RUN!
*He throws the camera down, the camera cutting to static as soon as it hits the ground. The static continues for a moment, then suddenly, abruptly cuts to black.*
