OOC: to make sense of this, check out Gracie’s scene 1, this RP reflects off that.
“The last show as the Carpenter’s”
(After receiving a letter from the LA county courts about the adoption papers being APPROVED, Jenn has been on cloud 9. After talking with Alexis about everything that happened to her, Jenn wandered toward her sister’s house, which isn’t that far away from her. Maybe a 5-minute walk, all of the girls live close together, but far enough apart where they have their own independence and close enough where they visit each other on a regular basis. Jenn rings the door bell before walking into her sister’s house.)
Jenn: Hellooooo?!?!
(Madison appears upstairs, just like everyone else, she had been packing for the Hawaii trip. She knows the trip is going to be busy but she packed some bikinis just to get some beach time in when she can. She spots her sister before smiling.)
Madison: Hey! What’s up?
Jenn: Not much, outside of the paperwork I received not that long enough. More like 3 hours ago but who’s counting.
Madison: TELL ME! I wanna know!
Jenn: They accepted it! I had my doubts because I didn’t think they would do adults like that but they did!
Madison: HELL YEAH! I had my doubts too but I’m very happy with that decision, it’s the best I had today!
(Madison’s excitement level is going up with every second that goes by, she had a bad day. Nothing bad, just one of those days where nothing goes right even when trying to pack. It’s an annoyance, and just like the rest of the Lopez’s Madison has a quick temper.)
Jenn: Hell yeah! That means we have parents who ACUTALLY care about us instead of getting rid of us. It just means a lot to me that they still wanted to make this happen and now that it has, it feels good. My heart feels happy for once. See, When I was 18 and I moved away, they always kept track of me, no matter what I did. When I went to college, became a cheerleader and for one year had a cheerleader as a job. They always made time to call me for 2 hours each weekend, and just chat. Chat about life, chat about whatever. To finally call them mom and dad, I never had that before. I feel special, I feel wanted and I have a family!
(Madison nods her head, she knows what Jenn means she never had her ex-father’s support either. But this is overwhelming for her,)
Madison: Just like you, once Mr. and Mrs. M got to know me, those weekly calls started to happen. They didn’t have to do that, but the fact they took time out of their day to get to know me, and just talk to me about how my day is going means so much to me. I don’t think I could ever repay them for everything they’d done for me so far. Look, I didn’t grow up like you and I didn’t get abandoned like you either, but i might as well have been, our ex-parents didn’t give 2 shits about me, just like they didn’t care for you either.
(MAdison shrugs her shoulders, she’s in a happier place now. In her mind, the past is the past now. She wants to focus on the future, the future with this new family she has, the future with herself in wrestling, and getting more championships to her name instead of just 1.)
Jenn: We can talk about this stuff till we’re blue in the face but once we get to Hawaii, this shit doesn’t matter anymore. We have a match coming up on Night 2 at Destiny and we should be focusing on that. Yeah, I’m happy about all of this that happened, but we also have a job to do.
(Madison nods her head.)
Madison: By the looks of it, we’re facing 2 highly uneducated people, clearly. I guess they don’t understand that nobody cares about them and yet they cry about title matches all the time. They think that every match they’re in is for a championship or number one contendership, whatever stupid thing they try to make them feel better about themselves.
(Madison chuckles for a bit)
Madison: I get it, they want to make a name for themselves but going down that route? That’s not going to do them any favors, and I’m talking from experience. Some people don’t realize that I’ve held a championship. Yeah, it’s for a company that I can’t talk about here because egos get involved but I have been, I’ve held it for 230 days. Never ONCE did i parade around here trying to fluff up my ego by making every match I’m in a contendership match, it’s stupid. It’s reeks of desperation, but I expect nothing less by 2 people like them.
(Jenn starts pacing back and forth waiting for the chance to talk, and as the veteran of this team she’s been through war with a lot of different wrestlers during her career as a wrestler. But there’s something about these 2 that makes her sick to her stomach)
Jenn: In my career, I’ve faced stupid people before from Enforcer to Robert Saints to Elizabeth Storm, who by the way were all former PWS people. But you guys, the Landersons put those people to shame. You always talk about title this, title that, when you win you get a title shot… dude SHUT THE FUCK UP! There’s a reason you’re not getting any title shots… it’s because you guys are not worthy enough for them. Nobody cares about you, you draw the lowest ratings every single time you show up.
(Jenn lets out a small sigh)
Jenn: listen to me good. The ONLY reason you're in a match with us it’s because we needed to have a match at Destiny. We weren’t going to fly all the way to Hawaii for nothing, sure we’ll be there for the hall of fame for Brittany, and then what? Sit around and do nothing? What a waste of time. With you guys, we’ll get a day off and a paycheck, it’s a win-win for us.
(Jenn walks way for a moment to calm down leaving Madison there to talk again.)
Madison: Look, I don’t care if you guys hate us, which honestly will be fine with us. We won’t lose any sleep over it. It just means we’ll have more of a reason to kick your asses in the future, that’s all that’ll mean. Let’s be honest here, We’ve never liked to guys anyway. From the day you stepped foot into this company until now, and now that we get to finally have you in that ring, it’s playtime bitches.
(Jenn walks back into the scene one final time, this time staring a hole through the camera, almost as if she’s talking to them.)
Jenn: I hope you guys didn’t expect to get any offense in, because you won’t. We won’t let you, I don’t care what it may look like to the people in the back, I’m tired of sitting around doing nothing. At Destiny, you guys are the punching bag so deal with it. If you brought your friends to watch you, I don’t give a fuck. They’re gonna see how much of a failure the Landerson’s really are!
(Both of them start walking away as the scene come to an end,)
