“Fuckin’...what the fuckin’...fuck?
Who the fuck? Fuck this…fuckin’...how’d those fuckin fucks…FUCK!”(I slam my phone down on the couch and let out an audible sigh of frustration. Dan looks up from the tv and looks over at me with a nod of almost approval.)Daniel Rusow: Well…certainly illustrates the diversity of the word. Glad Aurora is asleep so she didn’t hear that.
Audrey Russow: Oh, given who we and our friends are, she’ll hear it eventually.
Daniel Russow: Maybe, but what has you saying it?
Audrey Russow: Just saw my match for Riot…
Daniel Russow:...and?
Audrey Russow: Tag match. Apparently requested by one of my opponents.
Daniel Russow: Don’t like your partner?
Audrey Russow: I’m good with that, teaming with Milo again. So, no issues there.
Daniel Russow: Facing?
(I let out a sigh.)Audrey Russow: Alexis and…her…
Daniel Russow: Her?
Audrey Russow: The whore…the bitch…the disease-ridden skanktastic, insolent, vainglorious, oxygen-thieving harlot…
Daniel Rusow: Ah…that her…thought you were “done’ with her?
Audrey Russow: SO DID I! Did she not learn from the chamber? UGH!
Daniel Russow: Not really sure how this match got put together.
Audrey Russow: Apparently Haze went to management and begged for it. I can’t wait till you get the official clearance to get back in the ring. I mean..I’m sure Milo and I will be fine…just would rather have you out there with me when dealing with…her.
Daniel Russow: At least Alexis will be out there to hopefully keep things in line.
Audrey Russow: I mean…she can try…but you know how I can get when I get fired up, and lord knows that bitch knows how to fire me up.
Daniel Russow: That’s…an understatement.
Audrey Russow: Shut up.
Daniel Russow: Heh.
Audrey Russow: But, Lexi has tried to be as neutral as possible, which doesn’t exactly make for the best scenario. I’d rather have you out there cause I know you can keep me from going all…killabitch mode.
Daniel Russow: Eh, maybe…sometimes I enjoy the show, though.
Audrey Russow: Oh, shut up, Russow.
Daniel Russow: What? It’s the truth.
(I chuckle a bit.)Audrey Russow: But, Lexi has done her best to really try and stay out of everything, let me and Heather handle it. I didn’t want to drag her into the middle of it.
Daniel Russow: Seems like Haze hasn’t given you a choice.
Audrey Russow: Ugh…this sucks. I wanna focus on getting back to challenge for the World Title, and I gotta deal with this shit.
Daniel Russow: I’m sure you’ll get there. But, focus on one thing at a time.
(Dan gets up and walks over to sit next to me. He wraps his arm around me and pulls me closer to him, kissing me on the forehead.)Daniel Rusow: You’ll get there. You impressed everyone in that chamber. You’ll get your one-on-one shot, I guarantee it. Just gotta be patient.
Audrey Russow: It’s hard to be…I…when I was at my parents’ graves, I made a promise with them that I would come back with the title.
Daniel Russow: And you will.
Audrey Russow: Just…to be so close…and I didn’t give up…just my stupid body couldn’t handle it.
Daniel Russow: That’s why I’ve been giving you some time to recover and relax before we start training. And we won’t be training alone.
(I raise an eyebrow, as I look at him wth a inquisitive expression.)Audrey Russow: Oh?
Daniel Russow: Let’s just say I have something lined up to help you out. It should help me out, too…just waiting till I get the clearance.
Audrey Russow:...this doesn’t involve me getting arrested again, does it?
Daniel Russow: If you get arrested this time, something went seriously wrong.
Audrey Russow: And when will I find out what this training is?
Daniel Russow: In due time. In due time.
(I cross my arms and pout a bit.)Audrey Russow: No fun.
(Just then, we hear Aurora’s voice from the other room.)Aurora Russow: Mommy? Daddy?
Daniel Russow: Duty calls.
Audrey Russow: I’ll get her. Be thinking of what you want for dinner.
Daniel Russow: Pizza…answer is always pizza.
(I chuckle, as I get up from the couch.)Audrey Russow: Of course it is.
(I walk out of the room to go get Aurora.)
“Want some water?”
(I’m at the fridge, getting a bottle of water out, as I look back to Miles, whose playing peek-a-boo with Aurora. It’s a few hours before the show, so probably best we get together and go over the gameplan for tonight. So we don’t have a repeat of what happened in SCW.)Miles Kasey: Sure, thank you.
Audrey Russow: No problem. What about you, Dan?
Daniel Russow: Actually, tell ya what. I’ll take little one on a little journey so the two of you can focus on your planning. I know that’s why you came over, Milo. Not to play peek-a-boo with our daughter.
Miles Kasey: I mean..it’s an added bonus?
(Dan gets up and picks Aurora up in his arms. He leaves the locker room, as I hand Miles his water bottle before sitting in one of the chairs.)Miles Kasey: So, this match..
Audrey Russow: Let's hope it doesn’t end like last time.
Miles Kasey: Yeah…sorry about that.
Audrey Russow: It’s all good. We didn’t really know what we were getting ourselves into, and we hadn’t ever teamed together. Now, we have, and we definitely know what we’re getting into, and who we’re facing.
Miles Kasey: Which…is that going to be a thing for you? Facing Alexis?
Audrey Russow: Lexi and I are both competitive. Yes, we’re friends, but I’m sure neither of us want to let our team down. For some reason, she insists on staying friends with that…thing…so she’s not just going to throw the match.
Miles Kasey: Think we can expect a straight up match? Or should we be prepared for cheating?
Audrey Russow: Ya know? If this was like six months ago? I’d say expect any underhanded tactics you could think of. But now…I mean, I’m sure Haze may try some things, but Lexi won’t put up with too many shenanigans.
Miles Kasey: Now, question…and I want you to think about it.
Audrey Russow: Okay?
Miles Kasey: Do you think you can keep your anger in check with Haze out there? Try not to get us disqualified? I know you two….well damn near hate each other.
Audrey Russow: I won’t risk the match just to hurt her. Best way I can “hurt” her is to beat her…again. If that means beating Alexis, too? So be it. She’ll understand.
Miles Kasey: Juuuust making sure I’m not fighting a losing battle out there.
Audrey Russow: I got your back, don’t worry. I won’t lose my cool.
(I reach up and rub my neck, turning my head to try and crack it.)Miles Kasey: How you feeling after the chamber?
Audrey Russow: I’m okay now. That first week was hell. Definitely took a beating and needed time to recover, but I’m good now. Ready to get back in the ring and kick some ass.
Miles Kasey: Good to see you’re not demotivated after the loss.
Audrey Russow: Demotivated? Nah…if anything, I’d say I’m even more motivated now. I was so close, I could taste it. I’m convinced now that I have what it takes to win that title, and I’ll prove that when I get my chance, it’s only a matter of time.
Miles Kasey: Good to hear…hopefully this will get something going for me, too.
Audrey Russow: Sometimes you gotta make stuff happen for yourself, Milo. If there’s anything I’ve learned from this place, it’s that. Make a name for yourself, and fight for your spot. We’re in the main event tonight, so go out there and give everyone a hell of a show, people will notice.
Miles Kasey: Maybe. Seems I’ve tried things before and nothing just seems to stick.
Audrey Russow: It takes time. I mean, I almost hate saying it, but if it weren’t for Dan getting his concussion, I wouldn’t have been in that chamber, because I wouldn’t have had the focus. I was focused on supporting him, being his partner. Then he went down, and he became my biggest supporter, I mean he always was…but he was the one that really helped drive the fire in me to go after the title.
Miles Kasey: So, what happens when he gets cleared?
Audrey Russow: We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it. He’s letting me enjoy my run for now, and I gotta say…I really am enjoying it.
Miles Kasey: Even if we are having to do this match?
(I chuckle and nod my head.)Audrey Russow: Yes, even this. At least it’ll be a chance for me to get in the ring and get some action in with Lexi…and release some frustrations out on Haze.
Miles Kasey: Right on.
(He takes a sip from his water.)Miles Kasey: That was pretty badass when you did the Halestorm from the top of the chamber.
Audrey Russow: Oh God, I was scared shitless to do that.
Miles Kasey: Really?
Audrey Russow: Yeah, so much could’ve gone wrong. I just had to stop thinking and do it. Glad it worked out. Felt good to get the pin on her.
Miles Kasey: Do you think doing it cost you some energy it would have taken to go farther in the match?
Audrey Russow: I don’t think about that. What’s done is done, and there’s no changing that. I know what I can do, and just need to focus on the next task at hand, the rest will come.
Miles Kasey: Okay, good. We’re both focused on the match. That’s one of the reasons I wanted to stop by, to see what kind of mindset you were in.
Audrey Russow: Oh yeah, I’m focused on the match. Not looking past it. The rest will happen as it happens. All I can do is put my full focus on my next match, and that means helping you get a big win in a main event.
Miles Kasey: Appreciate it. We got this.
Audrey Russow: Yeah, we do.
(Okay, let me set the scene for ya. It’s about an hour before the show starts. I’ve been running around like a chicken with it’s head cut off, trying to wrangle Aurora and Dan, who is insistent on giving our daughter all the sugar he can find…he’ll be the one watching her, so it’s his funeral. I manage to get him to stay with her in the locker room while I go to do an interview for the website with Claire. I take a breath and let it out, as Claire gets counted down before she starts talking.)Claire Anderson: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. I’m Claire Anderson, here with a dot com exclusive interview with one of the competitors in tonight’s main event tag team match, Audrey Russow.
(I give a smile, as I step into the shot.)Claire Anderson: Thanks for being here to talk with us.
Audrey Russow: It’s my pleasure, Claire.
Claire Andrson: How are you feeling?
Audrey Russow: Heh..kinda loaded question..I’m…I’m good, all things considered.
Claire Anderson: Yeah, I’m sure this match isn’t exactly what you had in mind after Demon’s Run.
Audrey Russow: That’s putting it lightly…
Claire Anderson: What’s your thoughts on this match being made? You teaming up with Miles Kasey to face Haze and Alexis? What’s your mindset going into facing Haze once more?
(I let out a sigh.)Audrey Russow: I really thought I was done with her…I wanted to be done with her. I have nothing else to prove against her, and I wanted to move on to bigger and better things. She’s shown what she’s all about, and I don’t want any part of that. If Lexi wants to still be friends with her? More power to her, but I’m washing my hands of that entire situation. We’re never going to be able to get along, so it’s best we just go our separate ways and stay that way.
Claire Anderson: After there’s been so much turmoil between the two of you over the past months…many felt it was leading to a singles match at some point. Are you saying that’s not in the cards?
Audrey Russow: Never say never, but I’m just…I’m tired of her bullshit. She represents just about everything I’m against. There’s just…there’s too much emotion there now. I honestly don’t know that, if we were to have a singles match, it would really resolve anything. We are just such different people. I kinda feel like we’ll always be at odds. No amount of “fighting it out” will change that.
Claire Anderson: So, this is the last encounter for a while?
Audrey Russow: If I have anything to say about it, yeah. It’s only a matter of time before, hopefully, Lexi finally gets sick and tired of her crap. I believe in second chances, but Haze his had a second, third, fourth, fifth…so many chances to not be a raging bitch, and she’s failed to seize any of the opportunities to just be a decent person.
Claire Anderson: Wow…really no love lost there, huh?
Audrey Russow: Claire…I’d tell her to go fuck herself, but she already did that before Demon’s Run.
Claire Anderson: Oh God..that was disturbing…I…I still can’t believe she did that.
Audrey Russow: I can. That’s the type of person she is. She’ll do ANYTHING for a reaction, no matter how slutty or taboo. She lives for the reaction, for the attention. There has to be something fundamentally wrong with her for her to be that fucked up in the head.
Claire Anderson: Now, what do you say to her saying she’s just misunderstood, and you’re being aggressive to her for no reall good reason?
Audrey Russow:...really?
Claire Anderson: Just playing devil’s advocate.
Audrey Russow:..fine, I’ll play. I tried being nice…well…civil with her. She’s the one that kept attacking me from behind. She’s the one that laughed when Dan got injured. She’s the one that has thrown a jealousy-filled childish fit ever since Alexis and I started being friends again. She must sense that her manipulation over Alexis is starting to slip, and Lexi is starting to wake up and see her for the horrible influence she really is. And, look at what Lexi has accomplished since distancing herself a bit from Haze. She won the United Championship, and became a triple crown champ. Now, she gets to go into our biggest show of the year as a champion. Now, watch, Haze will try to snake her way into a title shot, because that’s the type of person she is. She’s only looking out for herself, and will use anyone as long as it’s beneficial to her. Once they’ve outrun their worth, she’ll drop them by the wayside.
Claire Anderson: A lot of aggression and frustration with Haze…but, are you putting too much focus on her? This IS a tag team match.
Audrey Russow: Oh, I know. It’s gonna be one hell of a fight, nevermind the shit with Haze. Alexis is one hell of a challenge. We both fought wars at Demon’s Run, she just happened to come out on top of her’s. I know she’s going to be looking to continue that momentum, and she’s gonna be bringing her A game. So, I have to bring mine.
Claire Anderson: How do you feel about having Miles Kasey as your tag partner? I know Dan isn’t cleared, but surely he would be a more familiar partner.
Audrey Russow: You’re right, Dan isn’t cleared. He’s almost there, but not quite yet. I’m not bothered by Miles being my partner, though. Yeah, sure, we’ve teamed before in SCW, and it didn’t exactly go the way we wanted, but that did give us experience teaming together. We have a better idea of how to work together now, a better idea of what to expect from one another, and I think we can work better as a team, thanks to that experience.
Claire Anderson: Yes, but how do you think you will fair against a team that has been teaming together for so long? Even if they may be at odds with each other, you can’t deny the success the Vixens of Pain have had as a team.
Audrey Russow: Oh, no. I’m not trying to discount anything. Like I said, it’s going to be one hell of a fight, and it’s going to take both Milo and I being at our best. We’re going to have to be on the same page, and keep our heads on swivels. But, I’m confident we can get the job done. I want this win, not just for me, but for Milo, too. He…he kinda needs something, and a big win here would go a long way in building his confidence here.
Claire Anderson: Any closing thoughts?
(I turn and face the camera, looking directly into it.)Audrey Russow: Haze..after this? I don’t wanna see your face. I don’t wanna hear your name. I want nothing to do with you for a while. You and I are just…two completely different people, and we just need to stay away from each other for a while. So, after this, go find someone else to be jealous of, go somewhere else to throw your childish tantrum. I’m done putting up with you. I’m not going to stop being friends with Alexis, and you need to learn to let her be friends with whoever she wants to be friends with, and stop acting like a psycho ex-girlfriend. I assure you, Lexi don’t swing that way. Alexis, I wish you the best of luck, and I know you’ll give us a hell of a respectable fight. I’m looking forward to getting back inthe ring with you, just not so much your partner. Milo…time to buckle up, butter cup. Let’s go out there and kick some ass. I’m still the fire, the fire still burns.
(II stare into the camera with a fire in my eyes, as the camera cuts.)
