“I have traveled far in my career. Many roads took me where I wanted to go and several where i never expected to be. When I started all of this I was nothing more than a pissed off 18 year old searching for his father for answers...It took me two years to finally confront him...but many times I stood there and observed him, then ran when my time had come...I fled like a scared dog.”

May 20, 2008 Houston, Texas
There was a light rain in the air, as the street lights and traffic light the area. As a younger David Shane, comes from a small wrestling school. He has his gym bag by the strap walking out on to the street. A taxi arrives on the side of the road just pulling past him, the driver opens the trunk, David throws in his bag and climbs into the back seat.
Taxi Driver: Alright pal, where to?
David Shane: The airport please...I’m going to see my father in Denver…
(The taxi starts down the road, as the driver looks at him in the rear view mirror.)
Taxi Driver: Family Reunion?
David Shane: Something like that...you going to talk or drive?
(David looks down to his phone as the Driver shakes his head and focuses on driving…)

“At times, I would come within inches of my father during his matches and I’d go to follow through with my plan, when I’d stop in my tracks and watch as My father came through...he kept the fans entertained whether it was cutting a promo or inside the ring with thrilling matches...I learned alot from him watching him...all the same wanting to break him down and get the answers I desired from him...but he just kept enticing me with his showmanship. The character he created showed me everything I wanted answers for…”

May 25, 2008 Denver, Colorado GWE Live Event
He sat in the front row watching the match in the ring, He was focused on his reason for being at the show. He looked at his watch then adjusted his hat before crossing his arms. One of the men in the ring was thrown out to the apron before falling to the floor, When the lights go out in the arena, as the crowd cheered once the lightning struck the stage and the bells began to toll.
This was his moment, finally getting to see his father after 15 years. David stood to his feet and placed his hands on the barricade, gripping it with anger.
The Arena erupted as Apocalypse stepped from the back, The man left in the ring climbed out of the ring and met him mid ramp and a brawl ensued. From David’s vantage point, he watched as his father fought back the other wrestler while still in his entrance attire. David slowly walked from his seat moving fans out of his way as he walked closer to his father.
He was angry seeing him for the first time since his mother passed, he could feel the adrenaline starting to build up within him. As he watched his father fight back the other man, He took his hat off and grabbed the barricade about to jump over but stopped, when his father threw the other into the tron boards then threw him off the stage.
David looked away, when his father's eyes met his in the crowd, Jason had turned to face him but, He put back on his hat and started up the stairs fleeing from the arena, deciding not to confront his father. David stood outside the arena after the moment, angered with his actions. He pulled his backpack off his back and opened it, pulling out the next set of tickets and started walking away.

“I’ve always had a different view of success, when it came to my own career. Where I sit now is where I always wanted to be after confronting my father and learning everything I could from him...I’m glad I never followed his path.”
The scene finally opens up with David sitting in on an interview with his wife. David’s phone on the table in front of him. The interviewer is writing vigilantly while David speaks. Maria is smiling holding one of David’s hands on her lap, while he speaks.
David Shane: I never really had a direction for my career. It started because I wanted to know why my father left me with my grandparents. Why he couldn't be bothered to raise me himself...even after what happened to my mother. My career started out of anger...so once I finally got the chance to deal with my father...I was sort of lost in why I was competing.
Maria grabbed his phone after a text message had come in and she started to message the person on the other end.
David Shane: My career was never about being the best at what we do...I learned a lot competing on the road with my friends and family. I met amazing people, even though some of them are no longer here. I know he’d still be pissing everyone off if he had the chance too. This company all started to fill my ego,My face was on all the billboards and advertisements for PWS Apex. My face is still plastered on the transportation trucks.
Maria interrupted David showing him a message on his phone before kissing his cheek and leaving the room, placing the phone down on the table.
David Shane: All of this started because of me, I hounded Star into the company to get the PWS name. I paid substantial amounts of money to get people like Daniel Russow and Alexis Makarios to join. Despite being friends with them for years...I understood it was precaution...we’d all joined new companies looking to use our names...but i didn't use their names, which i paid for...no instead I allowed my ego to plaster my face on the sides of the trucks and put myself center frame of all the posters. I let them all down, when I did that.
David places his hand on his phone before he stood up. He smiled shaking the interviewers hand.
David Shane: I got off topic, and I do apologize...but my father is in the other room and I can’t keep him waiting...any other questions forward them to Maria and she’ll get you the information you want.. Its been a nice…
(David looks at his watch seeing the time…)
David Shane: 3 hours! You couldn’t stop me 2 hours and 15minutes ago? Leave it to me to turn a 45min interview into a 3 hours discussion of my career and the industry…
(He couldn’t help but laugh as he left the room. He walked down the hall to his office. When he opened the door, his father was leaning against David’s desk with a glass of scotch in his hand talking to his daughter in law..)
Jason Cain: There you are my boy...it seems like forever since I last saw you.
David Shane: About two years, Dad.
Jason Cain: You’ve really made something here, David...I never really expected anything to come of this plan of yours...and well look at how wrong I was. What did you need my boy? Why fly me, all this way.
David Shane: Why don't we go to dinner? I don't feel like discussing this here, too many ears to over hear us.
Jason Cain: Very well, Maria, you joining us?
Maria Angel: Of course I am..

“Why is this match so important to me? Why do I keep insisting that we have a true outcome to this match?...its quite simple you see...Its all about my ego.”

June 29, 2020 Las Vegas, Nevada
(The camera came on inside the office of David Shane, sitting in the room across from him was his long time friend, Alfonso Banks.)
(Alf was in the middle of a story, When David stopped him and asked)
David: Alfonso, How long have you been working for me?
(Alf was taken back by the question as he’d never put thought into the length of their friendship.)
Alfonso: to be honest, David, I haven’t the faintest of Ideas...I started working with you, When Aaron was still alive and continued to work with you through the years...so I’d say at least 10 years.
David: I hired you, as a babysitter for my daughter when she was 2 years old, she is now 14 years old. I don't remember when I stopped paying you and we became friends...but I have to ask you, Alf...how would you rank my career?
(Alf nearly choked on the bite of his sandwich, he had taken. His mind raced as he thought of how to answer the question and not get fired for being too honest.)
Alfonso: I would say that it isn’t my place to judge your career, David. You have done things your own way and proceeded to go about things in an unorthodox way that most would say your nothing more then a mid carder...but then when you are focused on proving a point, you David can do just about anything...so I would say that your career thus far...is your own.
David: Way to dodge the question…
Alfonso: You’ve contributed in your own way, David...I don't think anyone could fairly judge you. You never wanted the spotlight but when someone needed to be in it...you never hesitated to make a name for yourself and raise people up to take over the spotlight…
David: Until I opened this company and plastered myself all over the place. I let my ego take control...I had paid good money to sign people like Daniel Russow and even Alexis took some negotiating to get her on board...I could of put them on the billboard but instead...it was me all over the place. I made them compete to become the face of the company...then when it was over I wasn’t impressed and wanted them to prove themselves more…
Alfonso: It was a new company…
David: Under the PWS branding...that I paid for. Daniel alone would have drawn in crowds. The fact that Michael O’Neil came here, and eventually Levi...I nearly ruined everything by no selling during our match because my ego wouldn’t let it just be what Levi wanted. They all had the right to be pissed off with me. They still have a right to be pissed with me. This company is better off with Laura running things, and me signing the checks.
Alfonso: I wouldn’t exactly say that, She left the Lopez’s walk out on their contracts...Eddie has left his position vacant since he hasn’t returned to work in months. The Russows have been running wild and I definitely wouldn’t say their better with you staying away...the fans miss Star’s and your presence
David: The fans never truly know what they want, Alf...after 12 years of being around the business. You should know that...they’re cheering for you one week then booing you the next…
(He stopped than looked at Alf.)
David: You've known me for twelve years...those twelve years I've been surrounded by other people...I've made decisions based on other people's reactions...Sunday, that will change…
Alf: what does that mean, David?
David: it's simple Alf…
(David stopped talking and looked down to his phone, before making a phone call and leaving his office. Alf sat there confused...while the scene faded.)

(The cameras fade in to the inside of a studio. Alexis was sitting there with a man, both had headsets on and mics in front of them.)
Man: Thank you so much for joining me for my podcast today, Alexis. It’s an honor to have you here.
Alexis: It’s good to be here. I’ve had a lot on my mind, and it will be nice to be on a platform where I can truly speak my mind without worry of being censored.
Man: That’s my philosophy here. No holds barred.
Alexis: Good, because I have a lot on my mind I need to vent about. So let’s get this show on the road.
Man: No nonsense, I love it. Let’s get this ball rolling. PWS:APEX is heading straight into it’s one year anniversary of the revival of the PWS brand, at Destiny. The show where last year, you headlined the show and walked out with the World Title.
Alexis: That’s right. Held the belt for 6 months.
Man: And you were holding the PWS:APEX record for longest reigning champion… until Alanah O’Connell broke your record with her current 8 months reign as United Champion.
Alexis: Woooooah hold up there. Alanah has held the belt for 8 months?
Man: That’s correct. She won it in October.
Alexis: Ok so I never did the math… but thinking back… since she won it how many times has she defended it?
Man: I didn’t look into it.
Alexis: Well, I can only remember one time she defended it. Against Cynthia Hellsing at Last Rites… her defense against Bella got cancelled.
Man: Do we want to move on?
Alexis: Hell no! See, when I was champion everyone was down my throat “oh you dont defend the title enough” or things similar… and now i sit here and realise that one of the “clique”s people has held a belt for 8 months with 1 title defense! I defended 3 times as much as her in a shorter period of time! I’m so sick of all this bullshit! Every single thing I have ever done in PWS:APEX has been criticized but it’s fine when it’s on the other foot. Ever since Star stepped down, I have barely been in a main event, or anything of the sort. Things have gone straight to hell backstage. People being kidnapped… babies being taken… it’s a damn circus!
Man: Does this mean you want to leave PWS?
Alexis: Never. I owe PWS everything. Before they gave me a chance I was just a little independent wrestler who’s name didn’t mean a thing. But look at me now. Ever since Star gave me a chance back in the old PWSi days. I will never leave PWS behind. Out of loyalty.
Man: Is it loyalty to the brand, or to David?
Alexis: Both, really. I’m looking forward to this match against him. He is one of my best friends, and a great partner in crime. To have a match with him at Destiny is a huge honor.
Man: Is it hard to wrestle against your friends?
Alexis: It can be. Trust me, I’ve wrestled Jenn, and Eddie.. Britt… and it’s a different experience each time. They are the few people you can truly trust in this business. And that is why this match at Destiny is going to be amazing. Don’t miss it.
Man: Well, let’s take a little commercial break and we will be right back.
(The cameras fade to black.)
