“The Adventures of Leroy continues”
(Over the past few weeks, Leroy, Madison’s main squeeze, has been on the tour of meeting her family, some meetings were fine and some meetings like with Gracie could have gone better. The last person she met was Brooklyn. While Brooklyn isn’t really part of the family she does hang around more often than none. Like Brooklyn did, Leroy is still meeting the family, he hasn’t reached the big heads yet, but that’s soon going to change. With Madison not feeling well, Brooklyn took charge and been helping Leroy around the house till the old man shows up. The old man is PWS Hall of Famer, Eddie Lopez! Just like with his daughter, he’s helping to build a nursery for Madison and the baby. Eddie walks into the house and saw the boy.)
Eddie Sr: Who the hell are you?
(Leroy seemed taken aback by the greeting he got.)
Leroy: L…Leroy…
Eddie Sr: Leroy? Oh, you’re the delivery boy that Gracie said she met. The guy that smells like pickles.
Leroy: Information spreads fast in this family….the pickles dripped on me when I was delivering it!
Eddie Sr: Right. Can the two of you help me? I have a shit load of things in the truck for Madison, where she is?
Brooklyn: Not feeling well, and since you were coming around I told her that I’ll help introduce her boyfriend to you, and there he is, her boyfriend!
(Brooklyn presented him like Vanna White would the letters on the wheel of fortune. It brought out a forced smile by Eddie but he tries his hardest to hide it. Their friendship is growing a lot since they met each other. Brooklyn and Eddie are becoming 2 jokesters in the family)
Leroy: So, who are you to Madison?
Eddie Sr: You can call me her overly protective brother. Ever since I met Madison I’ve always been protective of her, just like would be of my kids. I want the best for them, and I want them to make the best decisions… you watch wrestling?
Leroy: Not really.
Eddie Sr: You better.
Leroy: Why?
(Eddie grew a smile on his face…)
Eddie Sr: Because you’re stepping foot into a wrestling family. I’m not saying this to scare you off, that’s the last thing I want to do. But these are facts, we didn’t buy these houses because they looked pretty, everyone in this family worked their asses off for these houses, including your girlfriend. You do realize once she pops that baby out in a few months, she’s going back to her job right?
Leroy: Oh, of course, I would never take her away from her stuff.
Eddie Sr: Good…. Because out of the 2 of you, she’s the only one who brings the better income. I don’t mean to be harsh, it’s the truth, kid.
(Leroy nods his head, he knows he has to pick up his slack but he will. He’s still learning how things work and hopefully, with guidance from this family, it’ll help him with his growth, and help him reach his dreams.
Leroy: You’re not wrong. Anyway, you wrestled too?
Eddie Sr: Yeah, but I served my 25+ years. I try to stay away from the spotlight, I don’t like being in front of the cameras anymore, you know? I’ve done that my whole life. Now I’m just a grandpa, an uncle, a support character for my girls and son.
(A voice yelled from across the house…)
Madison: Bullshit on being the support character!
Leroy: Damnnn….
Eddie Sr: C'mon, let’s get this truck emptied…this is supposed to be your responsibility, not mine.
Leroy: That’s a lot of stuff to put together, I’m not handy….
(Eddie lowers his head on the truck after he said that, he knew at that moment he’s gonna be suckered into helping the poor boy, and with his handy skills that he has he might have to do the entire project.)
Eddie Sr: ….Alright, I’ll help ya since I’ve already put this shit together before for my granddaughter.
(The two guys start to unpack the truck along with Brooklyn’s help too. She didn’t want to stand around and do nothing, she learned that EVERYONE in this family pitches in to help when needed.)
Brooklyn: I think you’ll fit in fine here, It took me a while but once I met everyone and got settled in, they’ve treated me like family. With easter coming up, they’ve invited me over, so I can’t thank them enough for everything so far. Wait till you meet Lexi….
Leroy: Is she overprotective too?
(Brooklyn walks away letting out a small laugh, leaving the boy wondering what he got himself into as the scene comes to an end.)
“The Legend of Corey Bull”
(A few days go by since the meeting Leroy had with the elder Lopez that went fairly ok, Brooklyn is back with the old man but this time they’re by the Santa Monica pier. She’s with both Eddie’s as they’re enjoying the southern California weather that has been lacking for the past month with all the rain/snow storms that came through which isn’t really that normal for this part of the world.)
Brooklyn: what did you think of Leroy?
Eddie Sr: he's a good kid, but I think I'm going to take him under my wing with being handy. He's gonna need that because I don't wanna be around every time something breaks.
Brooklyn: Yeah, she’s a good kid. I know I’ve known Madison for a short time but she’s happy and it’s amazing to see her that happy.
Eddie Sr: Yeah but that happiness will be torn away soon, with the match you and my son have.
Brooklyn: Well, I’m not in the match but I get your point. It’s a tough task in Corey Bill.
(Brooklyn shrugs her shoulders a bit)
Brooklyn: When I researched Corey Bull for this match, I found something interesting. Lexi and Bull used to be friends back only a few years ago, and they also fought for the world title where they exchanged the title between them a few times. What has happened since then? Who knows, it’s something I don’t want to ask or be a part of. Here’s a thing that people do not know, Lexi and I are not friends, I haven’t made contact with the girl outside of the first 5 minutes she chased Eddie Jr away, so I’m not trying to save her from anything.
(Brooklyn shrugs her shoulders)
Brooklyn: Not saying I don’t care about her well-being, I just don’t know the girl. See, what he’s doing now is trying to do is play mind games with the girl. I mean yeah let's play mind games with a mentally unstable person, that’ll go well. That’s how unsolved mysteries became a TV show because of shit like that.
(She turned for a moment to see Eddie Sr, the old man gnawing on some hot dog he got from the hotdog cart.)
Brooklyn: I don’t see why people are scared of this guy, he’s just trying to torture people's lives for attention, he hates himself so he has to take it out on other people, I don’t play that stupid shit man, why because his daddy never loved him and his mother was a drunk? I don’t know the story and I don’t really care to know, but this guy doesn’t even know what torture is, he doesn’t know what devastation is. I LIVED THROUGH TORTURE AND DEVASTATION.
(Brooklyn looks ahead for a moment)
Brooklyn: Wanna know why I’m not scared of him like everyone is? Let’s take it back to a few summers ago. Eddie and I faced something that Corey Bull couldn’t even do if he tried. We faced 2 hurricanes back to back, both of them ruined everything we ever had, houses, childhood memories, hangout spots, you name it. I still live with the screams, the sights of blood, sirens blaring, it still keeps me up at night. Tell me core, did you have to work in 95-degree heat with no shade, no water, and nothing to eat? No? How about sleeping in 85-degree weather with no house or bed? The only place you could sleep on the ground where anything could snatch ya? No?
(Brooklyn shakes her head in disgust.)
Brooklyn: You don’t come close to the nightmares that I still endure from that time, you don’t come close to the devastation that I lived through. Call it PTSD, call it what you want but that’s why I don’t fear much of anything anymore, that’s why EJ doesn’t fear much of anything anymore. I know people have written us off in this match and so be it, I don’t care. We’re gonna step up to the so-called “monster” and we’re gonna slap it across the face and survive as we did in 2017.
(Brooklyn has nothing else she wants to say as she starts to walk away from the two Eddie’s. The Older one walks after her but he’s not as fast as he used to be, so he’s dragging a bit while following her as the scene ends)
