Power is power. Those were the ominous words that Alexander Lyons said to Max Delgado and Carmen Rodriguez before the last Riot, and by the end of that show everyone found out exactly what that meant, as the members of ANTITHESIS stood alongside David Shane, causing destruction at his command and being declared as members of his Armageddon team at Crusade.
The battle lines were drawn, and Alexander has made his allegiance very clear. Star Stormz was going to have to assemble The Avengers if she had any real hope of beating Team Shane at Crusade. Someone who wouldn’t be part of that match, due to his chance at championship gold is Alexanders victim this week, Max Delgado.
The cameras open on Alexander in a dimly lit room, with visible smoke and shadows designed to give the viewer an eerie sense of discomfort. He lets the camera linger on his eyes for several seconds, never blinking until just before he begins to speak.
“To quote my brother Jonathan Sanders” Alexander says, “You were warned. I told you that power is power and now the world understands just how powerful my words were. We will vanquish whatever army Storm assembles against us, and Ser David Shane shall ascend to the throne he deserves. But alas, that battle is still a few fortnights away. I must worry about the pending battle I have on the morrow’, or at least in a few days. I of course mean the one where I finish off the job Dionysus and I started and put an end to Max Delgado.”
The name leaves his lips with utter disgust, and he even spits disrespectfully on the ground after he says it.
“A man gifted a championship match he doesn’t deserve through nepotism because his father is the president of the company.” Alexander says shaking his head. “Max, Dio and I already beat you and your pretty little fiance once, and against me one on one will be no different. You see what power lurks by my side, and if you decide to step out of line, it’ll please all of us to hear you beg for mercy.”
He breathes heavy. Alexander is as confident as he always is, his intense aura ever present as words continue to exit his lips.
“You can keep your little fairy tale romance" Alexander growls, “Because this is no fairy tale, and I just might decide I don’t want you to be able to walk into your championship match, better yet, maybe I don’t want you to walk into your wedding, maybe I don’t want your fiancee to walk into your wedding. I can snap my fingers and make that happen.”
With a smirk and a wink, he snaps his fingers.
”But I won’t. I’m not a monster after all.” he says with another wink and smirk, “But I am an unaged animal looking for his next meal, and you drew the short straw didn’t you Max? Now you have to deal with The Feral Prince, and I’ve been hungrier than ever as of late and you look like a delicious snack.”
Alexander paces back and forth, exhaling heavily then turning his dead eyes back to the camera.
“I heard what you said about me. Calling me second, even third fiddle.” Alexander says with a laugh, “You don’t understand, in ANTITHESIS we are all equal brothers in arms to one another. I play second fiddle to nobody. But your remarks do show you at least have some semblance of a brain rattling around in that thick skull of yours, and you get to witness first hand what I am capable of when unleashed on my own.”
He flips his hair back from his face, snarling to show intimidation, gritting his teeth as he glares at the cameras in front of him.
“It’s really the nepotism that pisses me off.” Alexander continues, “How does a man who was defeated by Dio and myself earlier in the night get himself a championship match later that same night? This is why we need to get rid of people like Star Stormz, and keep people like David Shane.”
His words hit truthfully, there is no denying Alexander is fully in the David Shane camp.
“But they were just awarding championships all around that night, even Devon Ryder got handed a championship.” Alexander says with disgust, “It truly just makes me sick how Star will favor her friends over the actual talent in this company, all the more reason we need David Shane, a man who will always play fair.”
He smirks, knowing full well the how full of shit that statement was.
“Look Max my boy” Alex says “The fact is, you have just too much on your plate to deal with me right now, your unearned championship opportunity, your upcoming wedding, how can you possibly be focused enough to deal with someone like me? Let alone Antithesis, let alone David Shane?”
Alex starts laughing manically, not loudly but it’s enough to drive home his unstable mental state
“We have all the power now Max, and it’s only going to get even worse for anyone who opposes us.” he continues, between laughs. “Real power Max, not the power of gold that can be easily be taken from anyone at anytime, not the power of love. Just real raw power that can’t be stopped, that can’t be undone. It’s all ours, and we dare anyone to oppose us now.”
Alex runs his fingers through his hair, and down his face, still laughing, though noticeably not as much.
“The difference is, you seek victory by holding my shoulders down for a mere few seconds.” Alexander explains, “But I seek victory by making sure you hurt, by making sure you and everyone else understand who runs things around here. Your paltry gold prizes mean nothing to me anymore, as you’ve already proven that those opportunities get passed out like candy on Halloween. I am going to be victorious at Riot Max, and you will find out just what victory really means for someone like me. You will…”
The camera zooms in to the closeup shot for Alexander to deliver his catchphrase, and the Lyons family motto.
“HEAR ME ROAR”

Ruthless By Max Delgado
Alexander Lyons…I’m more than happy I get this opportunity. I’ll admit, last week…I failed. I couldn’t get the job done. I thought I made it in time, but I was too late. I’ve apologized to Carmen for that, but now? Now, I’m out for revenge. You thought that little spat we had on the outside was something? Better get ready for a hell of a fight, Alex. I’m gonna be the one standing tall at the end of the match. You just have the unfortunate task of being the one on the receiving end of this.
I don’t give a shit about Antithesis, but I’ll get to that whole shitshow in a minute. You and your lot have some answering to do for your actions last show…your’s starts with me.
(It’s Sunday afternoon, as Carmen and I stand on the front porch of my mom’s house. I look at her, as she looks a bit nervous. I take my hand in hers, as she looks at me.)
Max Delgado: They’re going to be happy to see you.
Carmen Rodriguez: I’m just so nervous. I don’t want them to see me on tv and think…
Max Delgado: They don’t think anything about that.
Carmen Rodriguez: Are you sure?
Max Delgado: I promise.
(Carmen lets out a sigh, nodding her head.)
Carmen Rodriguez: Okay, I’m ready.
Max Delgado: Alright, love you.
Carmen Rodgriguez: Love you, too.
(I ring the doorbell, as we wait for a moment, before hearing excited screaming and running from the other side of the door. After a moment, the door swings open, as my little sister basically tacklehugs me talking in that really high pitched voice that girls do when they get really excited. You know the one I’m talking about, right?)
Elena Delgado: OH MY GOSH! YOU’RE HERE! OH I HAVE TO SEE THE RING!
(She looks over at Carmen, who holds out her hand so Elena can look at the ring.)
Elena Delgado: Ohhh, bro bro…it’s BEAUTIFUL!
(She looks up at me.)
Elena Delgado: You did GOOD!
(She turns to Carmen, smiling.)
Elena Delgado: On the ring and the girl.
(Carmen smiles, as we walk into the house. I hear my mom from the kitchen.)
Mama Delgado: Is that my newly engaged son and his lovely bride to be?
Max Delgado: Yeah, mom. We made it.
(We walk into the living room, where Mama Delgado is sitting in her chair. She stands up to give us hugs, and to gush over the ring.)
Mama Delgado: Oh hunny, it’s beautiful! How did it happen?
Carmen Rodgriguez: It was so romantic. He took me to the Parthenon in Athens at sunset.
Elena Delgado: Awww! My brother, the romantic.
Max Delgado: I have my moments.
Elena Delgado: What else is new?
Carmen Rodgriuez: Well, Max is getting his first title shot at the upcoming pay-per-view.
(I bow my head, as Elena darts a look at me.)
Max Delgado: Carmen, they don’t care about that.
Mama Delgado: Of course we do!
Elena Delgado: We actually knew that already…and…I wanted to ask something.
Max Delgado: What’s up?
Elena Delgado: It’s completely up to you, but I was wondering if I could tag-along with you guys to Crusade. I’ve never gotten to see you wrestle, and with this being the biggest match in your career, what better time to start?
(I am taken back. I’m not sure what to say. She has NEVER shown interest in wrestling after everything that happened. I really don’t know what to think, and I guess it’s obvious on my face.)
Mama Delgado: Elena, Carmen, could you two give us a moment.
Elena Delgado: Sure, mama. Carmen, would you come help me in the kitchen?
Carmen Rodriguez: Sure.
(The two of them walk out of the room, as I look at my mother with an “I just can’t” expression.)
Max Delgado: Mama…
Mama Delgado: Before you say anything. I think it’s a good idea for her to go with you.
Max Delgado: How did she even find out? My father?
Mama Delgado: No…I told her about the title shot.
Max Delgado: How did YOU find out?
Mama Delgado: I watched the show.
(This one….this floors me. My mother has never…and I mean EVER wanted anything to do with wrestling. Like…she was one step away from being Bobby Boucher’s mom and calling it “the devil.”)
Max Delgado: I…I can’t…you watched?
Mama Delgado: I know a lot has happened. But, your sister wants to have something to share with you. She wants to be close with you, and I’m not going to stand in the way.
Max Delgado: What if she runs into our father?
Mama Delgado: Honestly? I think that might be a side-mission of her’s, to try and talk to him.
(I let out a sigh.)
Max Delgado: Mama…okay, if you watched the last show, you know I’m…not a nice guy on there. I mean…I '’’m actually pretty big of an asshole.
Mama Delgado: You do what you have to. If it means you have to get a little ruthless, so be it.
Max Delgado:.......
Mama Delgado: What?
Max Delgado: You, a woman who has always been opposed to wrestling, suddenly being all good with sending her only daughter halfway across the world with me to watch a wrestling show…
(She lets out a sigh, and takes my hand. She looks me in the eyes, tears forming in hers.)
Mama Delgado: Son, there is going to come a time when I’m no longer around, and I fear the time is nearing.
Max Delgado: Don’t say that, Mama…
Mama Delgado: Max, I need you two to be there for her. She is going to need her brother, and her father.
Max Delgado: He’s never been there for her…why on earth would he start now?
Mama Delgado: He and I have an understanding.
(Th’hell?)
Max Delgado: What is that supposed to mean?
Mama Delgado: It means that, once I’m gone, I want this family to continue on.
Max Delgado: And it’s going to be with me and Elena.
Mama Delgado: And your father. I’ve forgiven him, I pray you can.
Max Delgado: Why must I?
Mama Delgado: Whether you want to admit it or not, he helped raise you. He took you to all those wrestling shows when you were younger, and he took care of you.
Max Delgado: Yeah, all the while leaving my baby sister for dead.
Mama Delgado: Enough. Max, let her go with you to Crusade. I really want you to.
Max Delgado:...fine. I’ll take her. But she needs to know how I am there. I show a completely different side than you guys are used to seeing.
Mama Delgado: I’ll talk to her.
(Just then, Carmen and Elena come back into the living room. Elena with one of those excited and hopeful looks on her face.)
Elena Delgado: Soooo….everything okay?
(I let out a sigh.)
Max Delgado: You can come to Crusade with us.
Elena Delgado: YAYYYYY!!!!
(She literally jumps for joy, and starts running around the room, to which the rest of us can’t help but chuckle at. I have to bring myself together though to get her to stop.)
Max Delgado: Elena, Elena. There’s something you need to know. There, I am a different person. The side of me that you guys see? I reserve that for only you three. I don’t show that side to anyone else. Pretty much to everyone else, I’m an asshole.
Elena Delgado: Oh, I know. I think it’s kinda neat.
(Wait, what?)
Max Delgado: You do? Wait, how do you know?
(She looks down and gets incredibly quiet as she looks at the floor.)
Max Delgado: Elena…
(She looks up with a shy grin.)
Elena Delgado: I…mayyyy or may not have been secretly watching your shows lately.
Max Delgado: You have?
Elena Delgado: I have, and I really hope you beat that Lyons guy this week.
Max Delgado: Yeah, gonna be a tough one.
Elena Delgado: Well, him and his group attacked that Gracie girl last show, right? And her family tried to make the save but couldn’t?
Max Delgado: Yeah, all part of that Armageddon story bs.
Elena Delgado: Well, what if it was me they attacked, and they stopped you from making the save?
Max Delgado: That wouldn’t happen. Nothing would stop me.
Elena Delgado: Well, just take the feelings you have for that, cause Gracie is a sister, a daughter, a mother. And they couldn’t get to her. Make him pay for that.
Max Delgado: This…is not what I was expecting.
Elena Delgado: I can still surprise you, bro bro.
(So, Carmen and I are sitting in our locker room. I have to go do one of those promos in a few, so we’re just killing time beforehand, lounging on the couch with each other.)
Carmen Rodriguez: You ready for the main event this week?
Max Delgado: Yeah, I think so.
Carmen Rodriguez: Hoping for better results than last week.
Max Delgado: I’m sorry love. I know I should have gotten there in time.
(She nudges my side, laughing.)
Carmen Rodriguez: I’m messing with you.
Max Delgado: Well, I still feel bad.
Carmen Rodriguez: Well, take that feeling bad and take it out on him this week.
Max Delgado: Yeah, you’re right.
Carmen Rodriguez: Of course I am.
Max Delgado: I would ask if you’re ready….but it’s only Aaliyah Landerson. I’m not at all worried.
Carmen Rodriguez: Yeah. You know how I wanna get ready?
Max Delgado: How’s that?
(She smirks, leans over and kisses me. But before things get all hot and R-rated for you guys, there’s a knock on the door. We both let out groans, as I get up to go answer the door. I open it to see a crew member.)
Max Delgado: Yeah?
Crew Member: We need you for your promo, please. Also, needing a location where you want to shoot it.
Max Delgado: The ring available?
Crew Member: Yeah.
Max Delgado: There ya go.
Crew Member: Alright. See you out there in a minute.
(He leaves, as I close the door, and turn back to Carmen.)
Max Delgado: I guess we’ll have to continue this later.
Carmen Rodriguez: I guess we shall. Go do your promo, and we’ll finish this later tonight.
Max Delgado: Alright, love you.
Carmen Rodriguez: Love you too.
(We share a kiss, before I walk out the door to cut this promo. This one’s gonna be something, as I’ve got a lot of fuel behind this one.)
(The camera turns on, as it pans up to show me leaning against the ropes in the ring, inside a relatively empty arena. I’m staring up at the open roof, before bringing my head down to look at the camera.)
Max Delgado: Not gonna lie, last week was a miss. It was my bad, and I own up to that, because I couldn’t get there in time for Carmen. That’s something I’m dealing with, as much as I may not should be. I was so focused on what was going on with me and Lyons, I lost track of what was important. I’m not going to let that happen again. No, no. This week I don’t have to. I can put all my focus on Lyons, beat him, and then go to Crusade and win the United Championship. I won’t face disappointment again. This is must-win time for me. And I won’t be stopped.
(I let out a sigh, to recompose myself.)
Max Delgado: Alexander Lyons…so, here we are. I guess you could say this was always meant to happen. It was inevitable that we would fight one day. People might say we’re two of the “up and coming” talents in PWS: APEX.
(I shake my head.)
Max Delgado: I might be, but you sure as hell aint. Ya see, no matter how much you try and convince people that you’re this hardened badass, I know the truth. Truth is?
(I lean close to the camera.)
Max Delgado: You’re just a bitch.
(I go back to leaning against the ropes.)
Max Delgado: Do you take offense to that? Well, to be quite honest I don’t really give a fuck. Sorry to my mama for the language, but I ain’t gonna be apologizing for what I do to you this week. Ya see, I may be an asshole, but even I draw the line somewhere. You and your emo-friends wanna jump a female from behind in a 3-on-1 attack? All to feed the delusional self-serving ego of the cancer to this company? I mean, I know we’re in Amsterdam…but did you guys get some of the good stuff early to make you agree to that? Come on, man.
(I look away from the camera, looking around in the ring.)
Max Delgado: Sometimes, I like to come out here before a show, just to take some time to think. I close my eyes, and I can almost feel myself in the match. I can feel the tightness of the ropes as I bounce off them. I can feel the mat underneath my feet. Then I open my eyes, and I can visualize it. You wanna know what I’m visualizing this week? I’m gonna learn ya somethin. You wanna put your hands on a woman, Imma treat you like the bitch you are. And after I’m done with you, I’ll take your bitch boys on, too. Hell, I’ll take ya all out, one by one, so y’all won’t even make it to Crusade, and ole’ dumbass will be on his own.
(I kneel down, as the camera pulls in close.)
Max Delgado: You might be wondering why I’m so hung up on what happened last week. Well, let me tell you a little story. Ya see, I have a baby sister, a sister who I would do anything for. Now, if it had been her you guys attacked? And people tried to stop me from getting to her?
(I chuckle a bit before cutting a straight face.)
Max Delgado: You’d have to kill me before I’d stop. So, when I think back to what you did to Gracie…I’m thinking it’s my sister, and I’m ready to rip the intestines out of your body and feed them to you. Oh, everyone thinks “oh Delgado, he’s got anger issues” You ain’t seen nothing yet. I’m gonna make you scream in pain. I’m gonna make you regret everything. To put it bluntly…
(Pause for dramatic effect.)
Max Delgado: I’m gonna break ya, bitch. But you can leave your ass-buddies back in the back. See if you can somehow measure up man-to-man without any outside interference. I know you guys usually like to do the numbers thing, but this time it’s gonna just be you and me. And when it’s all said and done, and the dust is settled. You’ll be on your back, staring up at the bright lights, while I’m standing over you. You might regret attacking Gracie. You might regret joining Team David. But you WILL regret pissing me off.
(I cock my head to the side, thinking for a second.)
Max Delgado: Don’t wait for opportunity, create it…
(I look back at the camera.)
Max Delgado: I am making my opportunities, and it continues with beating you. Get ready, cause this is about to be…nah.
(I get up and walk towards the camera, looking down into it.)
Max Delgado: It’s bout be hell for ya…”Feral Prince Nothing.”
(I walk past the camera, as it stops recording.)
