“Meeting with the new manager”
(As the year starts to wind down, the Lopez family isn’t. They’re as busy as ever and with things starting to change as well, it’s hard to keep up with everything they’re doing. Especially Gracie. Her hard work is off the chain and with her being a single mother, she doesn’t have time for breaks or anything like that. So, she just works around the clock and sleeps when she can, even if it’s for a couple of hours. Sure, that’s not good for the body but she’s stubborn like her dad and doesn’t really listen to others. With it being a week till her daughter’s 1st birthday, she’s been working on a pirate-themed party for it. A knock echoed through the empty house as Gracie turns her head to the door. She gets up and checks it out… At the door, we see Jordan, a new friend. Gracie waves her in.)
Jordan: : Ahhh! I got you home, a couple of hours ago when I knocked nobody was home.
Gracie: : Yeah, I was out looking for something.
(
Jordan: made her way into Gracie’s house, making her way into the living room. She saw the list of the party stuff on the table and looked it over.)
Jordan: : For your daughter?
Gracie: : Yeah, she loves Pirates.
Jordan: : Awww! I would pay to see you and your family in pirate outfits, I would get a kick out of that.
Gracie: : …Really? Because you’re part of it.
(Jordan’s facial expression sinks after Gracie said that, she was joking but the joke came back and bit her in the ass._
Jordan: : I’m not part of the family….
Gracie: : No, but I need an extra body and you’re it!
Jordan: : I don’t do pirates…
Gracie: : For a 1-year-old you will….
Jordan: : ….Fine, but you better not tell any of my friends….
(The girls chuckle for a second as Jordan takes a seat. She isn’t into dressing up like that but for a 1-year-old? She will. Even though she just met the child, she wants to see a happy baby on their birthday. For a moment they sat in silence before Gracie broke the ice.)
Gracie: : So, this manager thing, you know I don’t like when people speak for me and i’m sure my sister told you that I don’t play well with others.
Jordan: : She told me you don’t play with others and honestly in the wrestling business, I don’t blame you. There are some shady people out there only looking to take advantage of others without any sense of remorse and that’s what happened with that Morgan girl and her partner, her partner didn’t even bother with that match and it was sad to see, but she as stupid for teaming up with him in the first place, so both were at fault. So it’s completely understandable.
Gracie: : See, what happened to Morgan is the reason why I only team up with people I trust and/or people I know. Unless there’s a common enemy that you and I can take out then I’ll do it but I’m not a full tag team wrestler, I’m not built for that. I mean sure I’ve held the tag titles multiple times but that was out of boredom, and at the time Jenn and I had a hit list as well. So it worked out.
Jordan: : I did some studying on you and you didn’t look happy being in a tag team. I’m not here to put you in a tag team, so don’t worry about that.
Gracie: : Thank god for that!
(
Gracie: ’s hatred for tag team wrestling is well noted after being stuck in the tag division for over a year, during the pandemic era. Unless it’s for something or a common enemy, she doesn’t want to be part of anything tag team at all.)
Jordan: : My goal is to hype your matches, I know you’re a star and really don’t need me but trust me, we’ll make this work. Plus, you can’t be around all the time with your heavy schedule, and with me, at your side, you won’t have to worry about anything. I know how you hate when people talk for you, and I’ll respect those wishes. But it doesn’t mean I won’t speak MY mind though.
Gracie: : I won’t stop you, if you have something on your mind say it. That’s the thing with this family you’ll get used to. But as far as what you said goes, I’ll give it a try!
Jordan: : Great! I’m sure along the way we’ll get to know each other and stuff. I think it’ll be a fun journey.
(Gracie: looks at Jordan for a moment trying to figure out what she got herself into but she knows her sister wouldn’t screw her over, time will soon tell.)
Gracie: : You know what isn’t fun? This whole David and Star bullshit. I didn’t want to say anything but i kind of hard to stay out of it you know? 2 people I’ve known for ages are fighting over this place and one of them is being an asshole about it. I mean…fair but I feel like he’s just running this place into the ground worse than PWSX did. Yeah, I know he didn’t have anything to do with that brand going down but it just… doesn’t feel right. I have no idea what led up to PWSX closing because I was a kid then, but it’s the same dark and ominous feeling…and I’ll be damned if I let this version of PWS die at the hands of David Shane. Unlike anybody else, I know what makes David Shane tick… and if nobody else outside of Levi wants to fight for this place, I will. I’ll fight tooth and nail for this place! And if I go down with the sinking ship, so be it, at least in my heart I knew I fought for the right cause….
(Gracie slides back into her chair…)
Gracie: : I have this feeling this David and Star stuff will come to a head soon and when it does, it’s gonna send a ripple effect down the entire company, and when that happens…. World war 3 will break out and EVERYONE will be affected by it, I don’t care if you’re low on the card like the Landersons or the world champion… better watch their backs.
Jordan: : Okkkk, someone needs to go take a nap.
Gracie: : I’m serious! Nobody else has this feeling but me, and something about this upcoming show doesn’t feel right. I hope to god I’m wrong but 9 times out of 10 I’m right about this feeling. It shouldn’t have come down to this with 2 people I know so well but I guess we’ll see what happens.
Jordan: : You can’t focus on that though, you should focus on your match and worry about that stuff later.
Gracie: : I mean I could but I’m facing a nobody. I’m facing Holt and she’s as threatening as a day-old kitten. I’ve watched that woman since she got here and honestly? I’m surprised she’s even here. She doesn’t do anything, she’s not in any major feuds, she’s just a wasted roster spot that someone else could have. The thought of her actually beating me is laughable at most.
(Gracie lets out a small chuckle)
Gracie: : Now I can sit here and ramble on about her but what’s there to ramble on about, she hasn’t done anything worthwhile, and honestly nobody pays attention to her. She could leave tomorrow for all we care and nobody will blink an eye, she’s a joke. Everything about her is a joke, and I’m sure her trainers think she’s a joke too. See unlike her, I’ve put in the work, night in night out, every single goddamn day, and I refuse to let some ring rat ruin my year because she finally had the balls to get a victory over someone bigger than her, what a joke that’ll be.
Jordan: : You’re not gonna overlook her are you?
Gracie: : That’ll be a death wish waiting to happen. She’s going to be treated like I’ve treated everyone else I’ve faced, so she better bring her A game, or else I’ll walk circles around her ass and make her look like an amateur, I did it before to everyone’s favorite punching bag, and I’ll do it again.
Jordan: I love seeing you fired up, I can’t wait to see how this match plays out, and like you said you’ve been having a great year and you don’t it to be derailed from some nasty ring rat, so I agree with everything you said. Honestly between you and I, I want you to kill that girl's hopes and dreams, and I’m sure the fans would love it too.
Gracie: That’s the plan!
(The girls chuckle before talking in private some more about some stuff they want don’t want to be known just yet, which is a smart move. One onion layer at a time when it comes to Jordan. The scene comes to a close.)
